Double Notes

hey guys, im using a Cubase Sx 3 With an Edirol Pcr A30 midi controller, and the thing is that when i play notes and record, every note appears doubled on the piano roll.
its really annoying to go and delete all the notes manually (as the delete doubles function in cubase doesnt work very well)
so i was wondering if there is some other way out, maybe to setup something on the midi controller, or maybe in the midi options in cubase(ive done that but maybe im missing something out)
Hope someone can suggest me what to do.
thanks.
Edit: in ableton it doesnt write double notes, it only happens in sx... |

That's pretty weird. I have a thought; the PCR sets up two MIDI channels (A and B). Do you have the track set to record on both the A and B channels? If so, try changing it to just A.
If it's not that, well then I'm stumped... |

I think this is a "classic Steinbug". I'm convinced I've had the exact same problem myself, but can't for the life of me remember what it was or what I did to solve it. I'm pretty sure though it had something to do with all that midi device configuration, system timestamp and all that.
I'll try to see if I remember. Also try and do some Google. If it is a common problem, then you'll likely find solutions rather fast on the web...
Btw: Have you checked that it is only set to receive midi on the specific device you're playing and that you haven't got midi through enabled?

well i have only the A port enabled so it should work properly. I was checking out different possibilites in the midi options and it didnt really change... |

| Long ago I`ve had this problem too. If I remember right it has had something to do with the "midi through" or "midi filter" options of cubase. Sorry, I don`t remember exactly what it was but maybe it`s worth looking at that to solve your problem. |

solved the problem, i just switched off all the midi inputs i cubase, and switched them up again , the problem was that the pcr thru port was enabled ( i thought i had it turned off)
Thanks for your input guys!;) |
