The surprise is still there. It's all about how you ask and when you ask. My ears are open year round for gift ideas but, I always ask my wife (indirectly) if the gifts will be appropriate.
Ex:
Me: "I was talking to one of my dealers today and her dad bought her a ride in a Nascar one year for her birthday. How cool is that?"
Her: "What the crap, that's awesome!"
My Brain: DING DING DING!! |

This is why he is happily married and many of you can't hold a girlfriend. Listen to this dude.
Anyway, you should really know your girlfriend enough to what she would like. If you don't then you aren't paying enough attention, (or haven't been in the relationship long enough,) which in that case, you can get her something simple. |

show her lots of diamond brochures, then get her an ironing board. say "surprised" and if she takes it well, take her to a hotel for a luxury weekend of sekz & relaxation |

have a clever ear in the future.
for example ...
i just got reading phantom of the opera.
my girlfriend loves the play and talked me into the book.
anyway so i read the damn thing.
the other night i rented to 2005 movie version of the play.
at the begining of it there was a song playing.
the song came from one of those ballerina things u wind up and .
but this had a monkey clapping .
anyway it was the wind-up version of the main song.
so now i know, in the future, to look for some like that.
booya. |

This is exactly what I do... whether its indirect, or if shes just talking about stuff and brings up certain things... I also write them down just incase I forget - theres no excuse for missing a good gift idea cause it could get you some uber-good nookie. :p
Right now I have a list of things that I can go through to get her a gift for Christmas. |
