review: Sean Miller headline sonic night...

Had an amazing time at sonic last night.
It was kinda nice to have a different opener than miller or nevio. I thought Mario J did a nice job opening.
Once Miller came on I couldn't just walk anywhere, it was dance everywhere.. Often dragging me to the front of the booth.. Sean destroyed it.. Superbly progressive slightly sleazy big room house?!?!
Closed it out a little after 8.. would've loved to hear Sean continue..
If there's a $10 w/ guestlist nice with sean miller once a month I would be there each time. |

I decided to check out this party last minute and it was a good choice. I came there at 1:30 and was totaly suprised to see an empty club with not one person on the dancefloor. It was kinda nice tho to actualy see how sonic looks before it got busy. Such a nice lay out i love it, something about that place jus makes it cool. Me my gf and my friend were one of the first people to start dancing.
One thing that realy dissapointed me was the opening dj. Mario J is the worste dj that i have ever heard or seen in my life. That guy couldnt keep the energy going for longer then 1 or 2 songs without ing up, trainwrecking, or jus putting some filler song that put the crowd to sleep. And at the end he jus kinda said it and threw in the last song without even mixing... BOOO never bring him again plz.
By 4 am when Sean came on i was kinda tired already from that boring ass set that was played by Mario, but right from the begining Miller RAPED IT. It was amazing, such a sick sound i dont even know how to discribe it exactly but to me thats the signiture Sonic Sound. By 5 am i was already tired so we decided to call it a night and go home. Next time Miller is spinning im gonna party out full force and stay till the end.

sean played probably the worst set i have heard from him ever........ last week. this week he went back to his roots, and delivered the crunchy sleazy goodness we have come accustomed to. the tunes he rocked out during the first two hours were just incredible. every where you looked, there were girls moving as if the music took them from behind and ed them like they hadn't been ed before. people either had a pained look on their face from the dirtyness, or a what the look during the massive buildups. even when the power cut from the dj booth, stopping the music for close to twenty seconds - it didnt faze him, or the crowd. he built momentum throghout the entire set... right up until he dropped the last track of the night (which also co-incidently was the last track i dropped on the boatcruise) kaizer souzai - monique.
the party ended at 8am, with a good sized crowd left wanting some more. there werent any complaints that i heard.... he left everyone completely satisfied. four hour gem.
p.s. - sean, if you read this.... you HAVE TO ID the intense techy tribal track that repeats 'THIS IS MY HOUSE' - you played this right before vibe dealers - vibe de laine which imo was easily the mix of the night, had the place going off. |

I've been trying to ID that track since Sundance with no luck. Calderone and Lawler have both been playing that track recently. |

omg when i listen to this track i get these flashbacks of all the spaceship look alike lights (at sonic) going on and off everytime the beat breaks in.. and the crowd just going bananas!! toolooloolooo... t..t.. tloolooloo.. or is it just me going bananas :crazy:
