Hillary Clinton: Would You Vote For Her? Why...why not?

It's no secret that her name is popping up everywhere. She's fast becoming one of the Democrats' last hopes at taking back the White House in 2008 along with a few other prospects which will remain nameless. The point of this thread is to get your thoughts on this woman. I don't want to waste my vote the next presidential elections which is why I would rather hear what you guys have to say about her before doing so.

Oh and another thing please don't nag to me about the willingness to vote outside the bipartisan system because if you haven't noticed yet third parties and beyond never get to be president. With that said, let's begin!

would i vote for her? no. a lot of people wouldn't. a lot of Democrats wouldn't.

...but i hope she's the nominee.

One Clinton throwing dart board was more than enough. In all seriousness, she has her merits on some issues, but on others I disagree with (like her continual support of the Iraqi war). She is a huge representative of corporate interests and the Washington beurocratic Beltway, DLC, New Republic bologna thats consistently caved in to corporate interests, as well as a complete and utter failure to attack the opposition party on issues that I believe count the most at this point, namely the War on Terra, NSA spying, legalizing torture, a viable Iraq plan, and foreign policy in general. Sure, they have the domestic economic issues down swell, but that issue is a distant second to what myself and the majority of the American people (according to most polls) want our country to focus on. IOW, she represents the very fabric of beltway good-ol-boy bull that the vast majority of the GOP and a healthy number of Democrats emboldens while forgetting what the majority of the actual population John Does voters like myself would truly like to see.

Not only that, she is prime meat for the Right Wing Noise Machine to rally around and smear the living out of night and day. If she is to win the primary in March, my guess is the Noise Machine would have so much $ built up out of shear hatred by their base towards her and perhaps even a woman in that rank position that she would be roadkill with skidmarks on her face by May. It was harsh enough with Kerry - I can only imagine what kind of smear-boat $ could be raised to destroy her to a pulp.

I'm not a fan. If she's up against some strong Bush-type, I'll vote for her, but I sure as hell won't like it. I'd probably have to vote all Republican in the Congressionals to try to restrict her (only in my mind, as living in NYC, we all know Democrats will win no matter how I vote).

Hillary strikes me as a fairly run-of-the-mill moderate populist. I'm not sure why it is that she attracts the ire of Republicans (I guess that having the name "Clinton" is enough in this respect) because she doesn't seem to hold many outrageously "liberal" views and indeed holds a great many conservative positions, especially where they are politically expedient (the Iraq war until it went to , censorship, immigration etc.). She seems like a canny politician and one who could be trusted with running the country, but I - personally - probably would not be inspired to vote for her.

Well at least he's principled and has been critical of the Bush administration on a number of fronts (their management of the Iraq war and their refusal to acknowledge the Geneva Convention for starters) but in recent months he's also begun sucking up to Rush Limbaugh and his pals on the hard-right of American politics. The US could do a lot worse than John McCain, for sure, but I certainly think it could do a lot better as well.

She seems to me like an opertunist. I don't like her social policy on certain issues, and I think it would lead closer to a nanny-state if she were voted in.

This is why I don't like her

Charges: Let’s face it: one reason the Republicans have done so well in recent elections (aside from touch screen voting machines) is that they are consistent in their views, however nuts they are, while "new Democrats" like Clinton are willing to hump every fence they come across. Hillary’s recent triangulation on issues like flag-burning and naughty video games has no right-wing equivalent in reality, but it would be something like Alaska Senator Ted Stevens launching a campaign against logging. Claims to pray all the time, which even her supporters know is bull.

Exhibit A: Will probably cause yet another tragic Republican presidency.

Sentence: Designated cookie-baker for Feminists for Life.

Yeah, I think that's who I was thinking of in the first place. I get all these fat, white conservative guys mixed up. :-/

Don't vote for democrat or republican if you don't believe in their bull two-party politics.

Make a difference, damnit.
