whenever i try for that 3 strings sound ,it sounds too much like a lead and too fast.

im sure all of you heard it
tiesto does it on adagio for strings at - 0:38 ,and again at 0:59

here is my settings im using pro 53:

on the filter eg im using 50% att ,50% dec,0% sus 75% rel
on the amp eg im using 50% att,0% dec, 100% sus ,75% rel

unison on with, 9 voices, analog 75% , rel turned on ,vel turned on,

and the mod is turned down to 1 with some modulation.

and the effects are turned on so it is effected somewhat.

hopefully you guys can see what im doing wrong.

to me it sounds like it's effected quite alot. I can hear it "bounce" a couple of times like it was run through a delay and probably some reverb too.

and just a sidenote, the sound can be found in William Orbit - Barbers adagio for strings (Ferry corsten remix) and not in tiestos remix of that track :)

i just want to get that 3 strings kind of sound ,to sound ,slow and have a longer attack and release when i put the attack all the way or 75% up and the release up it still sounds very fast (kind of sounds like a lead rather than a strings section)

take a look at my specs and let me know what i am doing wrong thanks:(

If I understood everything corecly, you have Pro 53 set to unison mode so it's down to 1 voice. Whenever you play another note the previous one gets cut immediately. Try to set unison off and see if it makes any difference. Though it will sound thinner then obviously..

this is a sample of what i have now, i just need to know how to slow down the movement to get that strings sound,(right now it sounds more like a lead) ill try and turn unison off and make a few instances.

Why not try a strings sample or soundfont?

Increase attack and release? :conf:
Maybe if you post a sample of what exactly you're after someone would actually be able to help.
By the way, that melody is horribly random.

First off, the reason your sample sounds so lead-like is because it sounds monophonic. I hear some heavy portamento/gliding on it as well.

Second, you don't have enough attack or reverb on those strings.

Here is an example I just played of what I think you are trying to convey:

What you are hearing is the same strings, same melody but with different adjustments. The first part is plain and BAD, and the second part is with longer attacks, delays and a heavy reverb. You want to make your strings sound like the second part right?
Akridrot
ALSO, before someone says it and makes me look extremely stupid:
It could be that you just need to use a more 'stringy' sound as your base. That might be it.

+1

Confused,
Melody is Urgh,
SAMPLE!

crazedonee
well guys the melody was just an example of me not getting the strings sound the melody was not anything special or to write home about.
