bump, and round 2 for me

1. Skye - Whats Wrong With Me (Single Version)
deep house pop stuff, i grabbed this for the remixes, the original isn't anything to write home about.

2. O - Spiraalit
barebones acid techno, not oldschool.. sound a bit too empty, but the acidline is cool.

3. Entheogenic - Zero Plus
entheogenic have always made music that is a cross between psychedelic trance and other genres, i'm not sure what the x in this specimen is, but it's very good. recommended.

4. Hardcell & Johan Bacto - Stealth Procedures
bland tool techno; to be deleted.

5. Orbital - Lush 3.1
i doubt anything needs to be said about this one. it's awesome, but i find other versions more agreeable.

6. Leela James - Music (Simon Aston Remix)
modern funky house, may be useful.. a bit too fast, but that's what the pitch is for.

7. Inxec - Chalk & Cheese
minimal tech house/experimental filler, not my kinda groove.

8. Drax - Amphetamine
oh joy :D only problem with this track is the thin paper kickdrum.

9. Two Lone Swordsmen - Brootle (Simulant Remix)
good music, donnow what else to say about this one :p

10. Rob Acid - Freak Party
w0000t, one of my favorite tracks of all time. desperately needs to be released, and preferably on vinyl. sweeeet modern acid house.

much nicer batch than last time, and for a change, i've heard most of the tracks here priorly
chris harrington
good job on that bumb :D

i think i will do a round three soon :p
spc
hmm.. this looks interesting, and being that im bored as well.. i'll give this one a try!

*shuffle on* *next*
1. Sasha - GU013: Ibiza CD2
Oh wow, this is off to a nice start lol.. this doesn't really bring back any memories because I just got it around last year even though its from 1999. I was never really into Sasha and never gave any of his mixes or songs the light of day until Fundacion. And then also add into the fact that I've been on some sort of nostalgic route the past year or so "acquiring" older music and mixes that I have missed out on. It's funny because I would definitely hate this stuff if I were myself back in 1999 :) Oh, awesome cd by the way.

2. SPC - Detox
Heh, didn't think this would pop up... this is a mix I made about 7 or 8 months ago.. a "dirty house" mix as I guess I could call it.. lots of energetic songs, some electro-bandwagon songs here and there ;) The highlight of this mix was randomly throwing in timo maas's remix of we are all made of stars

3. Akyra - Here Comes the Rain Again (Club Mix)
LOL cheeeeese alert.. i used to love this song lol.. i think this is from 2002, maybe 2001. this song just reminds me of messing around with a chick that used to make me play this every time in my car.

4. Sia - Breathe Me (Ulrich Snauss Remix)
Awesome remix, very relaxing. gotta love ulrich snauss. this doesnt really remind me of anything besides how much i also love the mylo remix

5. Art of Trance - Gloria (Clanger Remix)
Got this a few months back.. this is from 1993. Good old-fashioned trance... reminds me of when most producers actually put a good effort into their songs :wtf:

6. Above & Beyond - Alone Tonight (Ronski Speed Remix)
This song is pretty stupid. I should delete it.

7. Steve Lawler - Global Underground: Lights Out 2 CD1
Steve motherin lawler! dirty tribal goodness :)

8. Finch - Post Script
Some sort of rock band I used to enjoy back in 2002. Some of their songs bring back some memories but not this one.

9. DJ Aligator - Doggy Style
BEST SONG EVER. haha i used to play this to my ex, she wasnt too fond of the lyrics even though she was a whore... go figure :wtf:

10. Billie Ray Martin - Your Loving Arms (Soundfactory Vocal Mix)
oh snap! some old school classic house goodness... makes me feel like i'm about to go out onto a night at the roxbury.. start the headbobbing.

11. Throbbing Gristle - Hot on the Wheels of Love (Ratcliffe Mix)
Two words: pure buttsecks! such a sweet sexy song, first heard this off howells gu027.. this song reminds me of how awesome danny howells is

12. Mobb Deep feat. Lil Kim - Quiet Storm (Remix)
I had a gangster phase for a couple months a few years ago... and besides it has a hot beat, which is probably ripped off from another song anyway

13. Tiesto - Magik 3
Eh, one of the magiks that i'm not really fond of.. nothing really stands out in this mix imo.

14. Lee Burridge - Deeper Shades of Hooj Vol. 2 CD2
Yeaaaa this is the in right here! Found this on my nostalgia escapade this past year... ALL the songs on this are mintttt. this is from 1998

15. Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You (Bob Sinclair Remix)
Discovered this remix a few months ago even though its pretty old.. imo probably a pretty underrated track.. don't be fooled by the name of the remixer! this is some good right here, this is back when he didnt churn out the cheese

and thennnnn the winamp freezes

alright i guess thats all for now.. fun game, its entertaining playing along and reading what others write as well

The Phonique remix is awesome!

Random track played

Tool - Prison Sex
Sand Leaper
This is the last time I'll do it for a while, I promise. OK computer, please give me something else than just techno and ambient this time, please please please?

808 State - Pacific

Not too shabby a start, although everyone should know this classic anthem and THAT sax lick. And if you don't, check your head.

Ganja Kru - This World

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! Irresistibly funky breakbeats and basslines from the Playaz-camp. Somebody find me a Youtube video of b-boys doing their routine to this tune, kthx.

Jayfive - Datafile 23

Pretty good hardcore set from one of the Discogs mods, with lots of twisted shenanigans in between the distorted kicks. Sadly, it opens with Shy FX - Original Nuttah, a track that annoys me to no end. The set could also have been a bit faster.

Kamaya Painters - Wasteland

Here we go, some proper variation! Looks like my comp listened to me. This is one of the KP tracks that don't sound like KP at all (I think Outstream is the other). I like the shuffling hats and that growling buzz on top of the bassline. Great contrast when the synths come in, too.

John Askew - Nailgun

It's a shame Askew no longer bothers to play sets on a tip like the one this track is on. Meaty beats and a solid 303, with no stupid fanny breakdowns in sight.

Dilate - Sea Level

More ambient, yay. This is a gorgeous tune however. Endless, shimmering padworks that wash over you like warm indian sea water during summer. Still no sign of the album this is on, unfortunately.

Sand Leaper - Kick Off 061006

Hour-ish acid/techno set I did for radio last weekend. It goes right off, honestly. As long as you can ignore the somewhat shoddy beatmatching of course.

Cul - Live On Proton Radio (B-Sides) 021006

Smokin' reggae/dub set from the B-Sides crew. A handful of tunes on it that I don't really like, and the dub of King Everall - Afterall needs the snare roll removed from it, but superb stuff other than that. I've been singing "Out in the street they call it MUUUUUURDER" all week.

Iz & Diz - Mouth (Greenskeepers Revisit)

Typical chunky US house that works a charm on the floor, but isn't much for the home stereo. There's a version of Mouth that is better iirc, but this one will be deleted.

Yagya - Walkman

Wonderful tune from icelandic hero Ašalsteinn Gušmundsson. Slow beats underpinning his trademark synthwash-o-rama, albeit in a bit more dramatic way this time. Get it @ www.sutemos.net
Real
1. Basshunter - Boten Anna
Haha priceless. First out of 2486 tracks. Everyone should have this track in his collection. :toothless

2. Basto! - Rock With You (Nufrequency Remix)
Very good progressive trance remix of this house/pop song. The instrumental version is even better, I'm not too fond of these vocals.

3. Minddrive - Around You (Original Mix)
Some random trance track. It's ok, nothing more. :)

4. Airwave - Progressive Agressive (Antidote's Electroshock Remix)
Oooh I love this one. Superb electro influences in this track. I'd like to hear this one live someday. That break is amazing.

5. Armin Van Buuren - Control Freak (Original Mix)
Quite alright. :)

6. Water - Return To Innocence
Very good track by Fred Baker & Terry Bones, although I'd prefer Askew's Remix of Introspection over this any day.

7. E-Craig - Call It A Day (212 AM Mix)
Ugh, why is this on my PC? I hate E-Craig's productions.

8. Ard Und Jorn - 16 (DJ Nagoom Remix)
Haha, mindless hardtrance/hardstyle. I used to love this one a few years ago.

9. Markus Schulz - Sorrow Has No Home
Cheese. :(

10. Estuera - Tales From The South
Perfect track to end my list. One of the best tracks ever by fellow Belgian Jonas Steur. I love it! :)
david.michael
TRUSTcompany - Figure 8 - I don't really remember what this is at all, some sort of rock song. I think I downloaded it off of mp3.com back in the day before they sucked. I don't remember it at all but it sounds pretty cool!

Eminem - My Fault - I never meant to give you mushrooms girl...

Outkast - So Fresh, So Clean - Ain't nobody dope as me...

Delerium - Serenity - Kind of an ambient breakbeat song. I like Delerium but I'm not familiar with this particular song... it came from a large collection I leeched from my dad's computer. It's ok.

Powerman 5000 - Supernova Goes Pop - I must have had this track for years and years. I liked Powerman for about a week. Spider Zombie sounds the same in every song IMO.

Adam Sandler - Somebody Help Me (from Wedding Singer) - AHAHAHAHA awesome. AND WHEN I THINK OF YOU LINDA, I HOPE YOU EFFIN' CHOKE!

Tourniquet - Broken Chromosomes - The better, grittier late 80's, early 90's metal type sound. (Not like 80's crap buttrock but like Megadeth, earlier Metallica). I've seen them live, they were awesome.

P.O.D. - Change The World - Decent track, nothing spectacular, listen to it occaisionally.

Bone Thugs N Harmony - What About Us - For my incarcerated n_ggaz.

Torn - Labyrinth - I have no idea what this is, lol... some kind of rock/metal.
GrimReaper
Alright, as i don't really listen to mp3s.. i blindfolded myself and randomly picked 20 CDs out of the shelf and put them in an old CD changer.. let's see what came up during a "1 track per disc" shuffle mode. And yes this is an honest list, won't be ashamed of anything here. :toothless

01 Led Zeppelin - When The Levee Breaks
- The good ol' rock group Zeppelin, can't go wrong with their stuff and this isn't an exception. From the album Led Zeppelin III.

02 Bass-D & King Matthew - Like A Dream (Bass-D & King Matthew Remix)
- Hahah! A happy happy hardcore track sampling Madonna's Like A Prayer. I actually like it quite a bit even if i'm not a HHC or HC fan nowadays. From a compilation called Hardcore Cheddar: The Dutch Masters Volume Three. :stongue:

03 Deepsky vs. Marc Mitchell - Lost In The Moment (Vogelmann & Nyhus Full Story)
- Wicked pick. i love this track and remix! A 17 minutes long epic yet rather progressive journey, not too far from old Sunday Club, with a loooong ambient intro and outro. From a Vogelmann CD-R.

04 Santana - No One To Depend On
- The guitar wizard Santana gets it goin'. I like alot as i'm a fan of his guitarings. From one of his "best of" CDs, The Ultimate Collection 3xCD.

05 Eppu Normaali - Urheiluhullu
- Finnish pop/rock. A funny track with well rhyming funny Finnish lyrics but i'm pretty bored with the track overall as it has been played to death around here back in the day. The title translates to something like Sports Maniac. From their b-side compilation called Paskahatun Paluu which would translate into The Return Of The Hat. :haha:

06 Culture Beat - Inside Out (Kai McDonald's Eternia Mix)
- Kai Tracid on the remix 11 years ago, under his real name. I absolutely loathe his remix so so much.. he ruined the track, especially the vocals. The synths and pretty much everything he used are so damn awful as well even if there's some acid tweaks goin'. Easily one of the worst of the many mixes of Inside Out. From the Inside Out Remixes CDM.

07 Underworld - Dark & Long (Spoon Deep)
- One of their several views of Dark & Long while having very little in common to original or Dark Train. Spoon Deep is indeed a very deep and haunting 18 minute proggy monster, a bit repetitive at moments tho. From the Scandinavian Dark & Long CDM.

08 N.W.A. - 8 Ball (Remix)
- The only kind of hip hop i like.. old skool. N.W.A.'s Straight Outta Compton where this track is from, is easily one of my fav hip hop albums where the gangsta attitude is more "present" than in today's "bling bling" hip hop which again i hate so much.

09 Minimal Man - Treatment Feel
- An old techno track from Trancemaster 8. Not too bad but nothing too special either. Worth listenin anyway.

10 Mystic Force - Sunset At Dawn
- A mellow trancer from down under back in the mid 90s. Not bad. From his album Frontier.

11 The Drum Club - Alchemy (Orbital's Phasers On Stun Mix)
- I hoped there would be some Orbital.. and there is!!! Yes! Haha, a great remix of Drum Club's alchemy tho i personally prefer their Phasers on Dub a bit more. From a mix cd called Guerilla Beats: A Jackpot Continuous Mix.

12 Funky Technicians - Airtight (Remix)
- YES!! My alltime fav atmospheric drum'n'bass track. I loooove it! From LTJ Bukem's Logical Progression.

13 Dune - Hardcore Vibes (South Bound Mix)
- Woohoo! Some more happy hardcore which i hardly ever listen to these days.. Hardcore Vibes is my fav Dune track but not this mix which i think is boring. I prefer Good Vibes Mix. From Hardcore Vibes CDS.

14 Pet Shop Boys - Music For Boys (Ambient Mix)
- Not the first track i had in mind when wondering which track would be played from the Remastered "Further Listening" edition of Behaviour but a lovely track anyway, especially as a smooth "ambient" mix.

15 Mauro Picotto - Hong Kong
- I enjoy the whole The others album and this is one of my fav tracks from there for some very strange reason.

16 Dire Straits - Telegraph Road
- More rock. Great. 14 mins of blissful rock (haha). Maybe Dire Straits sounds so lame and too "old fart" rock for you folks but it is (or was as they group departed years ago) one of my fav rock groups. From the remastered edition of their Love Over Gold album.

17 Sven Väth - Harlequin-The Beauty And The Beast (F.E.O.S. & The Beast Mix II)
- I'm a fan of Pascal F.E.O.S. and his works together with Maik Maurice under Resistance D guise but the mixes of HTBATB are a definite miss for me. Don't like them at all. There are better remixes, like Underworld mixes which i like. From Harlequin-The Beauty And The Beast US CDM.

18 Westbam - Celebration Generation
- Rave on dudes and dudettes!! Brings back the memories of some of the early MayDays and EDM events i've been at. Still an addictive track for me. From his album Bam Bam Bam.

19 Tangerine Dream - Betrayal (Sorcerer Theme)
- Theme track for the old movie Sorcerer from the late 70s. On its own the whole soundtrack is pretty odd but in the rather chaotic and haunting movie the atmosphere it creates works very well. An ok track but they've done much better.

20 Megara feat. DJ Lee - Full Intention
- Argh!! My ears my ears! Oh the cheese.. Why couldn't the freakin player play about the only IMO good track on this whole Gary D presents D.Trance 2/2002 compilation, M.U.T.E. pres. Francesca Fiore - Missed Beat (DuMonde Remix) instead of the cheesy crap as in usual all the Gary D compilations are full of cheddar and have a couple of good tracks just like in this case. I've got a bunch of Gary D compilations which i've bought for about a 1euro each for a few goodies on each of them.

* * * * * * * * * *
Yeeaaaaa, it took a while. Lots of YES' here.. Nothing too new it seems, missed alot of genres..as there's not much ambient, not any heavy metal nor house or too many trancers either but just totally random bits and pieces from everywhere else. I don't even own much music i don't bare to listen at all or would be ashamed of owning anymore. Have sold all of those by now or am selling the last of them at this very moment.

Round no2...

01. Stenna - Skyline (Arizona Remix)
-> Not too special tbh, wouldn't know the title if you asked me.
02. Axwell - Watch The Sunrise (Vocal Mix)
-> Superb summer track! Makes me happy everytime I hear it...
03. Kamil Polner - Paleoris
-> Still have to hear the first Kamil Polner tune that really gives me goosebumps, but it's alright for sure
04. York ft Angelina - Iceflowers (Aly & Fila Remix)
-> Good cuz of the vocals, but apart from that, kinda average
05. Maroon 5 - Must Get Out
-> First poptrack of the list... OK for a change...
06. The Calling - Wherever You Will Go
-> Lol, blushes :P
07. Carl Cox - Spoon
-> To broaden my tastes I bought a Carl Cox track, and it's quite good :)
08. The Freak presents Exo - Above The Clouds (Mark Norman Remix)
-> Sounds a little too commercial for my taste now, but I used to like it
09. Santiago Nino - Genetic Code
-> Just a few days old! Different from my usual stuff, but really enjoyable!
10. Mike Shiver & Marc Damon - Water Ripples (Mike Shiver's Catching Sun Mix)
-> Not Shiver's best work, but definitely worth the listen

Quite a varied list and not too bad either :)

Hmm. Seeing as how I actually have more CDs than MP3s, perhaps I should go this route; might turn up some more varied results than what I have stored on the lappy since, by my estimate, I have around... 6000-7000 individual tracks (and yes, my CDs are sorted completely randomly).

1. The Arsonists - The Session
Hah! Already something different. 'Backpack' hip-hop. Think Jurrasic 5, only without the vanilla.

2. Marco V - New Dawn
Eh... the V-inator trying something else other than his usual pumping trance thing. For a breakbeat track with some nice melodic touches, it's alright, but those abbrasive sounds grate. Still, t'was a better effort than most of his 'experiments' on that album.

3. The Rurals - Window Pain
Final track on DJ Heather's mix Tangerine. A rather smooth bit of deep house, which is a nice capper on that release but kind of boring on its own.

4. Banco de Gaia - Desert Wind (The Satsuma Nightmare remix by Original Rockers)
A very mellow dubby take on this track, but what can expect from the Ambient Dub series, eh?

5. Outkast - The Love Below (Intro)
Kind of self-explanitory that one. Andre 3000 doing the crooner thing with piano and orchestral arrangements.

6. Juno Reactor - Hotaka (Der Dritte Raum Remix
Y'know, I often forget how good Der Dritte Raum is at making simple, loopy no-bull trance. Add in some of Juno Reactor's ominous tribal soundscapes, and... yeah, magic.

7. Vinyl Fever: aka Dirty Ali & Funky Farid - The Prophet
From a DJ Dan mix. Super funky filter house. Hardly revolutionary, but ace nonetheless.

8. 2 Unlimited - Burning Like Fire
What? Don't look at me like that. 2 Unlimited was one of the best pop-dance acts EVER. Like all their tracks, this is impossibly catchy. Only the most bitter cynic could not like this track.

9. Neo Adventures - Wake Up Fall
I think this was one of Hypnotic's own signed acts (the label often just distributed for European labels). A slow trance groover with some squelchy, echo-y acid lines, funky guitar bits, and nice pads. Nothing outstanding though.

10. Starecase - Lost 22
A fairly mellow trancer from a Rising High compilation. A little old school despite being from around the 2000 period.

11. The Prodigy - No Good (Start The Dance)
Oh yeah! One of Liam's greatest moments for all those old school ravers. Love the video too.

12. The Police - Synchronicity II
One of their finest moments. All the maturity of their rockin' ways together without any of the pretentiousness that was infecting much of Sting's work at this point.

13. The Dust Brothers - Corporate World
From the Fight Club soundtrack. Man... how do I even describe this? It has that funny salsa thing at the beginning, then goes into some moody ambience with sitars and chunky beats. Typical soundtrack fodder, really.

14. The Micronauts - Baby Wants To Bleep Pt. 3
Glitchy noise with chunky house beats. It's short and unremarkable though.

15. Beck - Steal My Body Home
Opium-soaked psychedelia.

16. Masta Killa - D.T.D.
Also with Ghostface and Raekwon. With that combo supported by choking Mathematics beats, wickedness is guaranteed.

17. Nu NRG - Dreamland
Yeah. I think everyone knows this one. Never really cared for it much; breakdown/build goes too long for my liking.

18. Cydonia - Anaconda (Part Two)
Middle-of-the-road psytekk. They're having more fun with mechanical sounds than creating any kind of hook. Grooves decently though.

19. X-Press 2 - Muzik Izum (Part One)
From some Slinky DJ mix I picked up in a bargain bin. Fun pumping bit of prog house.

20. Black Box - Strike It Up
Hah again! Sure, kick it old school to finish out. Another timeless tune. Wish they still made 'em like this; it's way more fun than all this 'electro' crap kicking around lately.

Heh... That's still shockingly biased towards EDM, even if you discount the hip-hop cuts. Mind, I'd guess at least 70% of my collection is electronic based.
