They had the directors and the one female pastor on CNN this morning. The movie looks interesting. I'd actually thought of going to see it back when it was in the Tribeca film festival just based on the description, but after hearing reviews, I'm even more interested.

I think I'd walk out after 10 minutes but maybe I can tolerate it if I'm not sober.

i used to volunteer @ christian summer camps back in the day (thanks to uber-religious conservative parents)and those things are no joke...i wouldnt go as far to call it brainwashing but it comes pretty close considering how intensely focused it is on creating a hivemind like atmosphere

Yeah, I went to a few different church camps when I was younger. They weren't really that forceful with the views, though, and the focus of the main one that I went to a few years in a row focused on different sports. We spent more time playing soccer than praying.

I went to a youth conference in VA Beach once in 8th grade, i think, and that was the closest thing that I've attended to what this seems like. Think of going to an arena smaller than MSG, but that held thousands, and having kids crying, getting saved on stage, and just generally acting a little too fanatical for my tastes.

And we all see where all this religious indoctrination led me....

I hope these kids come out of there and see it the way the rest of us see it.

When I was a freshman in college most of my friends were Korean and they took me to fellowship a few times even though I'm not Christian. I'd never seen so many grown men cry from being "moved by the spirit." Needless to say, I didn't convert.
