DJM-400 question

I just bought KRK Rockit speakers and on the back...they have unbalanced RCA inputs and BALANCED TRS inputs. I want to use the TRS inputs because the unbalanced rca inputs are giving me unwanted noise when plugged into my vestax vmc-002. I would need to buy a new mixer to be able to use TRS as my vestax does not carry this feature.
So...I am wondering, if what I am seeing on the back of this DJM-400 is two TRS outputs where it says MIC1 and MIC2 ??

I'm pretty sure Mic1/Mic2 are inputs, not outputs.
It only seems like there are two 'main' outputs, and both are RCA.
As far as getting unwanted noise with the RCA connectors, have you tried hooking your monitors to another source to see if it still produces the same noise?
Testing like this will allow you to isolate the problem- either it's your speakers or your mixer or possibly both (ground loop?). |

I am using a ground loop isolator right now and it has fixed the problem.
But I was looking to upgrade to a better mixer soon anyways...so I was trying to find a new mixer that has the TRS inputs. Guitar center told me that if my current mixer had TRS inputs, then I would NOT need the ground loop isolator that I am having to use right now. |

| Those are inputs on the DJM-400 not outputs, youll need to goto the DJM-800, which has balanced XLR outputs. |

would i be ok if i stepped down to the djm-600? I cant seem to get a picture of the back of a 600 to see what all is on the back. And on the spec sheet it shows only ONE XLR output which seems wierd. But i think I might see balanced XLR outputs....cant be for sure. |

| i have the stanton rm 404 and it has xlr outputs...it only costed me 300 too! plus it actually works really well and i find it more pleasurable to mix with than the djm-500 or 600... |

since we're sort of on the topic and i dont want to clutter the main thread area im just going to ask this here:
anyone know if you can get XLR > RCA wires or converters?? |

And is that a noticable difference? If so, how is the sound different?
Thanks. |

well, balanced is always better. Since its balanced, it cuts out all outside noises, ground hum and hiss etc...
For instance, when I use my ECLER's RCA outs, it sounds good...but when I used the balanced XLR outs with a good amp, it sounds GREAT! It's all "clean" sounding...no hum, no hiss, no static etc. |
