ASOT evolving?

Ok calm down kids this is not as exiting as it might seem from the thread title :)

I personally never listen to ASOT lately but I recently checked the latest tracklists and was surprised to see tracks which I normally wouldn't think Armin would play there. Just check out Episode 266:

Armin playing a Vibrasphere tune. That is clearly a minor revolution. Also in the episode after that one Armin opens up with a 16bit Lolitas tune.

Recently I had a chat with John 00 Fleming and he also mentioned that Armin himself want to evolve from the typical ASOT-sound.
What do you think? Have you guys noticed a slight change in Armins sound?

Great, you broke your own whining pattern for one thread at least :haha:

I whine? :conf:
Salegon
Every now and then he played some tunes that differ from his usual style.

I don't really see a real change in his sets.

I'm perplexed as to how armin managed to put down his usual poop & fit a vibrasphere tune in. For those of you who maybe don't know, trance hasn't died, but evolved for a lot of us, into a sound made popular that goes side by side with psy/goa trance. It's deeper, slower, more progressive, and fits in well with prog house at times too, the problem is that I fear after finding artists who make gorgeous stuff still, that we'll lose it all. Artists people who liked the vibrasphere tune should check out are

ticon
tegma
human blue
parham & plaza
miika kuisma
Jaïa
greed vs sonic cube
Andre Absolut
Symphonix
flowjob
kularis
ibojima
liquid soul
fitalic
ear sugar
human traffic
antix
freq
son kite
aerospace

and many many more. I'm in 2 minds as to if it's a good thing, I don't mind it being popular if it retains it's awesome ambience & feeling and doesn't have everyone making it like a lot of his playlists do. tough question really, do we want it to stay 'underground' from the masses, or get them to embrace it

Their latest album Archipelago is an odyssee in various landscapes and styles. From pumping morning trance such as Morning Breeze to the more laidback Tierra Azul and epic symphonic Sweet September and Seven Days to Daylight.

We are very proud to annouce that our track "Floating free" is making a big climb in the club trance scene at the moment. Armin Van Buuren currently has it in his =482&cHash=a304eda98b]playlist and it is at the top of the trance chart at beatport now for almost a week. All of this is big surprise to us since this track is a little bit different from our normal style of production.
