Hi!
I did get a fast chance to listen the Sytrus (http://www.sytrus.com/), and WOW! It just sounds awesome  Cool synths, and the guitar was also dirrty sweet! But just my luck... I have Mac and Styrus is only for Pc :whip:
Especially those bagPipes+Guitar made my knees go week...
Any oyher nice vst synths out there that work also in Mac? :)
And it would be cool if the vst has Universal Binary/Intel Mac...
Any vst "similar" to this awesome Sytrus? |

I love Sytrus too and fortunately I have a PC. IMO Sytrus' sound is rather unique. I don't know about Mac-only synths, but on the PC side I haven't come across anything quite like it and I've tried almost every top VSTi. |

Well, just to name a few that MAY compare:

EMagic ES2
Vanguard
FM f**king 7!! :) :)
I dunno...those MIGHT be comparible. :)
Sorry, being a prick today, hehehehe. work sucks |

lunamore; I've coffee in me now so i'm happy again. No more prickery! :)
Hm, guitar sounds...well not that I've come across. However, if you're going for a distortion effect, I'd recommend simply using a pretty good high-end steel pluck sound, and running it through distortion, like on Logic's guitar amp plugin for instance. Not the best but it works. If you're going for the more acoustic sound, you can get creative and if you program a regular run-of-the-mill patch correctly, you can make it sounds halfway decent. Think the guitar from Southern Sun by Paul Oakenfold was like that.
If all else fails, probably have to just plug in, get some guitar skillz, and do it that way. I'm a pianist though, so I'm in the same boat as you with having to find ways to get good guitar sounds. Right now my BEST method? ...super distorted sync-leads with sexy portamento. Then use the pitch-wheel at the end of notes to give that slow bend noise.
Help any? :) |

Thanks for the tip.
Run-of-the-mill?
I didn't really understand that  |

ack, sorry. Run-of-the-mill is a term some of us Americans use. It's equivalent of the term "average", "boring" "typical" |

for nice guitar sounds try refx slayer 2 vst
is an awesome instrument, althugh it doeas sound electronic, but thats cool in a way. you can always run it through NI Guitar rig and the results are great!!
great combo : slayer 2 (guitar synth) + Guitar Rig (guitar fx)
for people like me that dont play really guitar, and dont have appropiate equipment to record it, this is a ver good option, all inside ur sequencer!!!
