Well after seeing Carl at TIL Wednesday night, 1 hour of sleep before work I jumped on a train to go to Montreal to see Carl at Stereo.
Whoever said "no one listens to techno" should have been there last night. WOW, what a difference in the two venues and Carl's set.
Can you say 3 1/2 hours of pounding, driving, hard techno. Set was 180 degrees from his TIL set. It was one of those special nights at Stereo...it was full but lots of room, crowd was amazing and really into it. This night jumps into my top 5 right away. Oh and the tweaks to the sound system have made it better.
I think this might make sense but I'm a little sketch and probably shouldn't be writing. |

This is the real pmoisse now since the snob is passed out on my couch.
I got all wordy & rambled in the Montreal room so I'll spare my Toronto friends.
Last night was ing mighty. Non-stop rolling techno. Unreal. There was no bumpy house to be had at all. He rolled non-stop from 230 until around 6 or so.
XL was closing, and the guy dropped Under the Influence as one of his first few records. I can now die a happy man for having heard that tune on that system.
Last night beat all my expecations...and I was expecting a really damn good night to begin with.
Now time to avoid my cell phone when work calls.

YOU were hoping? Techno has been pretty damn dry in Montreal in the last while. This made up for it. If you're gonna do something, do it right.
On Monday I will be back to cursing the solid stream of good techno Toronto is getting right now. |

As is suspected. He played house becuase the ginos were only reacting to house.
I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE GONE TO MONTREAL! |

| Good to hear that. I was kind of wondering what happened at TIL. The set was quite minimal, nothing to brag about. Nice to find out that it was different. |

that's a more coherent (but less fun) review than the emails this morning :D
