Hi Guys

This is my first post and I have been workin gon a track that I reaaly ned the advice of those on these boards.

I have been listening to some of the tracks that you guy's are making and find them a great inspiration.

I would love some of you to listen to what I have been making. I need advice on the whole track realy, it's by no means finished, but I am stuck on what to do.

I have no experience at mastering or eqing so please do not expect to listen to something fantastic, but I am trying.

Please be gentle, as I would really like to make this a good track if possible. Below is the link to the track.

Thanks

Steve

track sounds very good...also very muddy!..and levels in my opinion are to high! turn things down and take time reajusting..

try some panning on precussion, add some loops that can just about be heard...kick in my opinion is a little weak against that bassline but thats me, i like a solid kick thats clearly heard...

get ur eqing sorted and the track could go somewhere...

keep at it mate....

You should be able to see where the kick is on the wave editor. In your case, everything is of the same constant level. Turn everything down, beef up the kick.

Thanks guys,

I agree that the track sounds muddy, is there a particular software you recommend i use to mix it better?

All I have done is exported it as an mp3 straight from FL5. Should I export each rack seperatly as a wav, then load it into some other software to mix it better?

Thanks for your advice uptonow thought, much appreciated.

I will add some extra loops as suggested. To me the track doesnt sound as full as the tracks I listen to on this site, am I using the wrong sounds? do I need to layer them?

Thanks again

Steve
substorm
Turn all levels down and mix up again, and leave some room for the kick to stand out a bit. Eq the kick for more presence, cut some at 150-250, boost juuust a little around 2500, and roll off att 30 with a small boost!

And try to get the subbass to work with the lower end of the kick to get more drive, now i dont feel anything below 50 of the bassline!

Just a personal input, otherwise a good track! :)

Cheers
