Collapse
This is the second time I heard something like this happen in a span of what 5+ years?
Honestly the Government of Quebec should be more strict with people who build the roads here in Quebec.
Honestly they people the Government give the jobs too, are doing a CRAPPY job.
There has to be a damn inquiry into this ! |

| As unfortunate as this is, I'm not surprised one bit. If it had happened anywhere else I would be. |

| Au lieu d'avoir des projets de nouveaux ponts le gouvernement devrait d'abord réparer ceux qui sont déjà là. |

Nope.
They've been doing that for years, big waste of money
Should tear them all down and rebuild them properly, at our inconvenience yes but whatever, at least it would be done, and done RIGHT. |

| If they want to reduce congestion on bridges in laval, they should start by investing in a public transport service that isn't a complete joke. Busses that pass every hour during rush and every two hours otherwise. They stop at 10pm at night. During the winter they often don't pass at all or arrive up to 45 minutes late (or 15 minutes early, which is probably even worse). On top of that, they charge insane rates and keep rising them. When I go to montreal there's such a huge contrast. Busses pass every five minutes, they're always spot on too, and there's service to cover pretty much any part of the city. |

Overpass Falls onto Highway
WPVI
December 28, 2005 - It was a near miss for drivers Tuesday night on Interstate 70, 20 miles south of Pittsburgh.
A 125-ton concrete overpass fell onto the highway, but miraculously it fell between passing vehicles.
PennDOT inspectors don't yet know why the overpass gave way.
But a stretch of the highway, which carries 20-thousand vehicles a day, is closed.

Part of overpass collapses, killing 3 in Colorado
Highway department investigating cause
Saturday, May 15, 2004 Posted: 5:19 PM EDT (2119 GMT)
(CNN) -- A 40-ton steel support girder on an overpass west of Denver, Colorado, collapsed onto Interstate 70 on Saturday, killing three people and blocking eastbound traffic on the interstate, a state official said.
The interstate remained closed just south of Golden on Saturday afternoon. The girder fell from an overpass of Colorado 470 that had been under construction.
An investigation into the collapse is under way and will keep I-70 eastbound closed for "at least five or six hours or into tomorrow morning," Colorado Gov. Bill Owens told reporters.
"It's too early to say when the girder can be removed," Owens said.
Stacey Stegman, public information officer for the Colorado Department of Transportation, said the girder had been raised Tuesday night.
The girder fell onto a Dodge Durango traveling east on I-70, "slicing the vehicle into pieces" and killing all three occupants, Stegman said.
The overpass, 16 miles west of Denver in Jefferson County, is part of an interchange to which exit and entrance ramps are being added.
"So far we have no idea what caused the collapse, whether it was the result of some sort of collision with a vehicle or not, but it is under investigation,"
Stegman said.

Update On Victims Of Bridge Collapse Sep 20, 2006 JUST 10 DAYS AGO!!!!!!!
[Update On Victims Of Bridge Collapse] There's an update on the condition of one of the victims of Monday's bridge collapse in Rib Mountain.
Newsline Nine talked with a family member of Jason Kundinger Wednesday.
He's been upgraded to stable condition.
His brother says he's still in a coma but breathing on his own and is expected to recover.
The family wants to thank everyone for their support.
There are still a lot of questions about why the highway overpass under demolition collapsed.
Kundinger was the most seriously hurt of three.
