WTF...Everywhere I have been lately, the sound has been really jacked and distorted!!!
More and more people are complaining about bad sound more consistantly. WTF. This is not that hard to make happen. Don't go TOO LOUD, Don't clip the system and do a freacking sound check before the place opens with someone who know what to listen for.
Ruby Skye, always great sound... Last night for Ferry, Distorterd downstairs and overloading. Upsatirs system was playing great, so WTF!
Ferry at Queen Mary, you guys said it.. I imagine that place is more trouble cause its not meant for that type of sound. But still it 15 minutes, I could have it sounding great.
PvD @ Vanguard sound was all jacked up, clipping and overloading the best sounding system in LA. WTF!
Anyhow, hire a sound guy, give hime access to do a sound check early and set everythign up so, it can't clip! or call me and I will come and do it for free, sound is so important to these events and your ears. At this rate we are all going to be deaf alot faster. The distortion kills your hearing more than anything else.

Agree 100%!!!
Do top DJ's have their own sound people? Cause some always sound spot on. Its funny you mention Ferry because everytime I've seen him the sound was off IMO. Always way too much high end. The first night of his Avalon residency the sound was killing me. As a result, I went to no more. Of course they can only do so much with the house system but how much of it is the DJs eq? |

this has been killing me too! its kinda making me NOT want to leave spundae cause its really ing up my ears. i dont think i am going to be venturing far from spundae till i actually get the custom musicians earplugs. its just too painful.
sound at vanguard for pvd was horrid and same with ferry at qm. i dont care where it is the sound can not be distorted. acoustics only play into the overall sound within the club/venue but when you are right next to the speaker you shouldnt be able to hear distortion. |
