Hey guys!
Looking for a vst for strings. I have searched the net for something, but without any results!
I could use Reason and the NN19, which has a some nice string banks, but i rather not, so im looking for something simular in vst?
Thanks

Thanks! :) I know this one, but i dont really need that "heavy" synth :p. Something cheeper and more simple!
More classic strings!

Atmosphere is great for, well, atmospherics, but I've found that when I try to make complex and layered string melodies, it has a ton of bugs and never sounds right. |

String Theory from Ugo isn't half-bad if you're looking for a synthesis-type, as opposed to sample type.
I don't know of any other string synthesizers, but of course almost every sampler/mini-sampler has tons; Hypersonic, Kontakt, Edirol Orchestra, HALion. I sometimes use some of the stock strings in Emulator X but you need an Emu for that... there are also tons of individual string sample CDs, you don't have to go all-out with the Vienna set.
Oh, and I know you want a VST, but there are also tons of SoundFonts out there that you can probably wrap with. Much easier to find classical/symphonic sounds in that format than Akai/Emu/Kontakt/etc. |

substorm, my suggestion is to try and learn Albino2/3 whichever you prefer or have. It can create some really powerful, lush sounding pads and strings. If you're looking for some strong pad sounds, then maybe FM7 or an FM synthesis synth will be more along your lines. |

Z3ta or Korg Legacy Cell will give you all your analogue strings needs, :) |

if u dont want the bulkyness of atmosphere, then i suggest vanguard, that can knock out a some nice stringy pads |

theres alot of great real strings sample cds in sf2 or other formats that sound very sharp and would do the business nicely... |

Maybe you should check out Edirol HQ Orchestral, it doesn't cost a fortune and It sounds pretty good. Sure it might not be the best strings on the market, but with a litlle tweaking it can sound pretty nice I think! :) |
