Yeah, Amtrak looks to run $167 per person.
Any suggestions for parking if we decide to drive? |
Drive to NJ then take NJ Transit. Its like $19 round trip from Hamilton and it lets you off right at Penn Station. Easy, cheap and gives you time to sober up before you drive again. |

| cheapest way is chinatown bus $30 roundtrip--picks up in canton, baltimore and downtown baltimore. check out www.apexbus.com. best way is to drive and believe it or not you can find parking. i used to live in bmore and did the commute to nyc every other weekend. |

What I sometimes do, especially if I'm only going into NYC for the night, is park at Metropark in Edison, NJ... It's right off the parkway, exit 131... and take NJ Transit (train) from there. Round trip is $12 to Penn. Station, it's about a 30 min ride, and is easy as hell. Using this, I have left from south of Baltimore at 9:15, and was in Roxy before 12:30 (I do drive in a "spirited" manner, but you get the idea) |

That's what I'm thinking but now my buddy is leaning towards the bus because he doesn't want to take his car. (I'm sure we'll be in a messy state come Sun AM) Apexbus has travel time from Baltimore to 88E Broadway as 3.5 hours, also Baltimore to Penn Station as 4 hours. I imagine it takes more than 30 minutes to get from Broadway to Penn Station on a bus.
Has anyone taken this before? |

| I never took it but my mom sometimes take it. Sometime its good and sometime its bad depending on how aggressive the driver is and the weather traffic |

The bus is fast enough for the money... I've never had a horrible experience with it (gone Boston-NYC several times) but there has been more than one accident (not while I was on it). Boston-NYC trip time was close to advertised; they drive pretty fast, which is both a good and a bad thing...

| A friend of mine takes the Chinatown Bus down here from NYC... The only bad experience she's had are the people on the bus... if you can deal w/ that, it usually runs just about on time. Good luck |
