Clueless about digital camera features, need help w/ something

| I have a Canon PowerShot A95 and I'm trying to figure out how I can set it so that it delays taking the picture for a few seconds, so that someone can jump into the shot. Anyone know what the term for that is called or how it typically is done, since the A95 has the type of dial with camera options like many other digital cameras. |

| Start to hold down the shutter button, then right before it's about to take the picture, throw it into the air in front of you two. Voila. |

i have a Canon Powershot as well and i remember it being kind of tricky figuring that feature out. there's a whole bunch of buttons you gotta press so you're probably best off reading the users manual. it's on pg 46. |

I meant to set it to automatic some way so that after a certain number of seconds the camera automatically takes the picture. That page showed how to increase the ISO speed, which isn't what I'm looking for. |

yeah from the sounds of it its autofocusing
the way you prevent it from doing that is to fous before you're ready to take the shot.
get the shot lined up, then focus on your subject by depressing the shutter button halfway (you'll push it down a lil but not to where it kinda clicks)
it'll focus then, and hold it there
then just push it down the rest of the way to take the picture |
