Back again with the mix for September = )
Starting off this mix is a beautiful little song by Bloc Party who will be making their 2nd appearance on my State of Muzik series so far. These guys make beautiful relaxing music and Blue Light is no exception. Also just to remind people my intro and outros are never meant to be mixed in its just something I think helps set the mood and help make others unfamiliar with electronic a little more comfortable when they turn the mix on ^^
Next is an older intro edit I did for James Holdens remix of Blackstrobe-Nazi Trance Off! This was the first oppurtunity I've had to really utilize this song and its so full of energy and kick I think you guys are gonna like it = )
Up now is a very nice song by 16 Bit Lolita's with vocal treatment by Jennifer Horne. What they've delivered is beautiful vocals layered on a too a signature 16 Bit Lolita driving bassline. Great song to start a mix off with or to use at the peak of a mix its a very diverse song.
Pillow One has a habit of putting tracks on tranceaddict up for free usually when he remixes older songs or mainstream songs. The end product is always amazing and probably some of the most euphoric music around. His remix this time is for Sia-Breathe Me now if your unfamiliar with Sia she was the female vocalist for Zero 7's In the Waiting Line. Her amazing vocals echo throughout this song and its hauntingly beautiful.
Older tunes getting remixed is never anything new but very rarely does one pull it off so effectively like with this song. Richard Durand coming off great success with his last song Make Me Scream tackles Viridian's Sunhump with a latin house feel and its great. The guitar to the bassline and percussion all compliment each other very well. I've heard Tiesto use this in his recent Global Gathering set and the crowd reaction was amazing.
After Sunhump it took me awhile to figure out what could follow and eventually felt that The Air Between was relaxing and energetic which was just what was needed. Breakfast is an 18 year old who has been getting full on support from Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz. With good reason too the kid has talent later on you'll hear River of Light, Eternity and Beyond and understand the can make two completely different styles of trance and pull them off with great effect. I expect nothing but great things from Breakfast in the future
David West has been a staple in my mixes since I first heard any of his material. Make U Mine has that signature progressive funkiness that made West's tunes so lovable and perfect to utilize live. The song has energy and will definitely make you dance = )
Onto another Breakfast song and probably one of the most epic and perfect trance songs I've heard in awhile. It has a dark uplifting touch and the percussion just kills. Overall an amazing song every and any trance dj should have.
Anyone who know's me know's I've been a fan of anything Ferry Corsten has had his hand in since Out of The Blue, Needlejuice, Carte Blance etc. He's been a huge inspiration for me for forever now. Needlejuice was his first hand at crossing electro/house with elements of trance. He finally made that full transition when made Punk. Probably one of the most recognizable songs you'll ever hear at a club. He recently made a rap version titled Junk for his L.E.F. album and FINALLY Flashover mixed it which alot of Ferry fans were hoping for. The end is an up to date very energetic hard hitting version of Punk. Enjoy and hopefully this brings back some memories
Junkie Xl is another great producer I've adored for years now and his latest album Today although under the radar a bit was great. His songs always have a great rock edge to them along with his signature kick and beautiful breakdowns filled with guitar strings. Enjoy this one! Great track title as well..Ive Got A Xerox to Copy..totally misleading hehe
Blake Jarrell is not only an ace person but an amazing producer. He was recently hand picked by Tiesto as one of the top 5 of the year. Great success is coming his way and he proves he's got the talent with this remix for Anna Nalicks Breathe. Beautiful piano and vocals delivered here with an amazing progressive feel. If this doesnt put a smile on your face im not sure what will <(^^<)
Ending the mix is a beautiful small ambient song by M83 who are also in my state of muzik mixes for the 2nd time = )

yo. finally getting around to give you some feedback.
liked the set. listened to it more than a few times. great diversity of tracks and unique overall effect. didn't really take to the first track. i think it just can't go well with the eerie stuff that comes next and it just causes you to think your listening to an indie rock album strait off. personally i got used to the track and it grew on me a bit but from a professional standpoint you need to start off with something that reflects/foreshadows what's to come. it's just more effective that way. after that it's pretty good. the first half hour the mix was very subdued and relaxed. not gaining much energy. still was nice and an interesting way to go. personally it was pretty cool after the 2nd listen, but before that it wasn't very attractive, if you know what i mean. it doesn't draw you in much or grab your attention. it's nice in a laid back way, enjoyable chill. but you should try and pick up the momentum a bit quicker. after the 30 min mark the mix seems to pick up good momentum and builds great. really loved the mix after this point.

Anyway great mix Minaya, would love to have the whole thing, but it was enjoyable none-the-less. :) |

Its hard getting good feedback these days
I do agree the first track didnt work as well as I thought it would this was probably the first time I really realized that after a couple of listens
I would've changed but I just had no time this month to really listen as much as I would usually want to before putting it up for download
So far I havent heard one person complaining about the mix ending to quick but ill look into it
