I'll be very happy ;-) too bad this just cant happen - we're too close to Toronto and Buffalo and they won't let us have an NHL team

^what would you called them then? sport names are getting a little gay ie the wild, trasher, blue jacket? what next? the screamer? sandstorm? polar bear?
verndogs
thrasher was chosen cuz it's the official bird of the state of Georgia

it's a good name despite the hideous logo

SolemnThirsty
winnipeg beaver

winnipeg woodpecker
EvilTree
*misses the Jets*

But yeah. No go for team in Hamilton. Not many Sabre fans in S Ont, but there are enough Leafs, Sens, Habs and even Red Wings fans. Market is saturated enough already

that isn't happening nor will it happen. contractually the team has to stay where it is unless the arena plan falls through. each of the casinos bidding for a license in pittsburgh has submitted some plan to the city supporting the construction of a new building and the nhl is realy pushing for the team to remain in that market. if hell freezes over and the penguins move they'll go to a city with a brand new buliding. kansas city has a nice new tax payer paid arena and is hungry for a professional team. if not kansas city then a city committed to the team and willing to pay for a new building. the real question to ask about hamilton is are the fans willing to pay high prices to see an nhl team and are there enough local businesses in the area to buy suites, club seats, sponsorships and whatnot because realistically the teams don't care about the general fan... anyhow, that's my two cents.
