Logic + live 6 = heaven.
Hammer out beats melodies variations basslines etc then mix in logic, though i still prefer recording my guitar and bass in logic. But for any aspiring pruducer I would deffinately recommend Live as a starting point, im sure if you started in Live you would learn how to overcome some of its limitations. But being a logic user for 5 years now, its kinda hard to drop it. ;) |

Live is a GREAT sequencer. I use it for all that jazz. |

Couldnīt agree more! So easy to learn and work with. Verry straight forward! Never used any other though :p , but it has never crossed my mind to use any other. Just love it! |

Being i still have a lot of hardware synths I still enjoy logics midi facilities. Not to mention the grooves dna thing.
But coming soon is logic 8 its been a awfally long time since there was a significant version update for logic and I would be surprized if they dotn try and incorporate something similar to live. I mean the already have to some extent with appleloops. |

live is indeed a great toy and utility to create wild stuff. But I have to say that the sequencing isn't anything for me at all. Compared to cubase & logics timelines it's a mess to edit things fast and easy imo. |

Ya know what sucks, a majorty of them you cant say where the track marker is while a clip is playing its like a black line on a black waveform. Really annoying.. |

Just out of curiousity, what do people mean when they talk about live's limitations? I'm not trying to start a sequencer war, I'm actually genuinely interested, I always thought they were talking about signal routing, like you have two sends and thats it, no more mix subgroups, but I found that you actually could have mix sub busses... so... Is it just the lack of optimization for large sessions we don't like (no track folders, gui stuff etc) or am I missing something? |
