The ER20's are the same price and have better frequency attenuation across a wider band.

And they are the same price.
p.s. you could have bought the HEROS from Guitar Center. |

The attenuation looks virtually identicle to me. I might have to give these a try.

I have the ER-whatever's ($20 range) and really, they suck. I can tolerate a lot more noise than anyone I know, but I used these one night, and my ears were still ringing...they let too many loud frequ's in. They just lowered the volume a little. I thin these were meant more for recording sessions, or playing in a band, not ocncert/club goers.
Honestly, bar napkins do a better job! I usually prefer that ( I can still hear the music and friends, but no ringing) Or I use regular hearos, but only gently stick them in, so they are resting against the back of my ears. Sure I look like either a) a cheap bastard with toilet paper in their ears or b) Frankenstein with blue things sticking outside his head, but either of those seems to work better for me. |

I got a pair of the ER-15s w/ custom molds for my ears. They ran about $160 but they are well worth it. I've forgetten them a couple times & I always kick myself for doing so the next day.
Get yourself some plugs folks. I went out for many years w/out plugs & my ears have felt the impact. If I'm around loud sounds my right ear will start crackling...unless I'm wearing my plugs. |
