I cannot remember the details, but I watched a film during class last year where a gentleman (in China I believe) was fined about $50,000 for doing about 15mph over the limit......the point was that in that country the wealthier an individual is, the more he has to pay for things like speeding tickets......the movie mentioned that another individual who was poor would have paid about $20 for an identical infraction.

$170 for speeding in a school zone (32 in a 20). Got it reduced to $90 because I'd never even been pulled over before, but if I get pulled over before January, I have to pay the rest of the difference.

i've only had one speeding ticket in my 9 years of driving. i was on an empty highway practically driving across alligator alley (road that is pretty much in the middle of the everglades, and takes you from the east side of southern florida, to the west side of southern florida) and i was doing like 83 in a 65. it was almost 200 bucks, i can't remember exactly. it was a close call for something worse, because if you go more than 20 mph over the speed limit, then it's a felony.

according to my driving record, i have been nailed 15 times since june 1999 for speeding..... whcihc is why i pay so goddamn much for insurance.. ive been good lately tho i dont go over 15 over the limit anymore
but i did get nailed for 210 in a 100 zone on the 402 heading to sarnia about 5 years ago. lost my liscnece on the spot had to go to court to get it back and the fine was over a grand... i think like 1200 or something.... i ended up getting the charges dropped with a very expensive lawyer and a cop that didnt show up to the court date .... but ya had i had to pay that it would have been the most expensive fine i have ever gotten
