Getting a clear 'reece' bass sound?

NO!
Whenever I try to make a reece bassline, that really low bass you hear in dnb, some of james holden's productions just to name a few, how do I make it so that it's all not low end that's being dominated? I try cutting some of the low end and the whole thing's just gone.

I just throw a saw fm on a chorused, unisoned saw wave, then throw on some distortion. For an Invid-like effect, I double that up with a lowpassed saw or maybe even sine wave, then put a high-pass on the reece synth that I can toy with.

so it's essentially 2 detuned saws? One synth is lowpassed, while you layer the other on high pass?
