sub-forums for music styles

Why dont we make sub forums for different styles.

i.e - house, trance, progressive etc.

Cause I'm only curious for the house sets. And I can imagine some people only like the trance mixes.

It;s a lot better I think..

I don't agree, I check out mixes from my mates as well as sticking to styles I like, I think it'd just get all wound up, and if someone posted a mix which they thought was one style but others didn't it'd just lead to arguments & unnecessary work imo

I think every dj can make the difference between house and trance :)

Any other opinions? I really dont see the point to not making subforums in the dj promotion thread.

I like it the way it is because I'll check out things I wouldn't normally listen to. And I noticed that people's opinion of style seems to be a little different depending on where they live...

Bad idea. Less exposure for DJ's because of the number of people who would never venture into one of the two forums.

Beyond that, if we have a bunch of forums, then who's to say we won't have to add a new one each week for every new cocksuck genre that Jim Bailey from Bum, Iowa decides to create?

The way it is now is the way it should be.

many DJs blur the lines between genres, so there would be lots of sets that might not fit into a specific "house" or "trance" category.

also, i think most people in here specify what genre their mix is. and beyond that, you can usually get an idea of the genre based on the tracklist.

Why don't you use the thread at the top of the page devoted to these sorts of suggestions or the suggestions forum. I think the prior is more convinient, but either is usually effective.
