What's up everyone
I just came back from New York and I wanted to share something with all of you coz im sure you will appreciate it (if you dont already know that is :p)
I picked up some flyers for Crobar/Pacha/etc. just to take as souveniers and I came across the most interesting flyer..
Introducing STEREO NYC!!!!!!!!
Yeah that's right, they are opening Stereo in New York City and it actually says on the flyer:
"Montreal's Legendary Vibe comes to N.Y.C. !!"
:D:D:D:D
Opening night is November 18th and Angel Moraes is the opening DJ.
I was so happy to see it. Sick adress as well (555 W 33rd Street)
on top of all that the flyer opens up in an ammmazing poster promoting the event....
the only sad part is I only got one copy of the flyer (sorry Stereohead :sadgreen: )
So the chain has begun!!:disbelief !!!!!
:disbelief !!!!!:disbelief!!!!

i doubt it will have a great and long success
a vibe from another city is when you are visiting this actual city...
imagine tomorrow then open a new club here and they say "vibe from Toronto in Montreal"
i go into that club and what do you find ? your friends, montrealers
the music ? same music as it is played anywhere on the planet.
you want an ibiza party ? go to ibiza... not the ibiza at beach club
new yorkers want to party montreal style ? they come here
I see this club as a plain simple new club. |

| it will be kinda sad to me honestly if they keep branching out and opening places like it was a McDonalds franchise. There is only one Stereo...call it something else like they did with Sonic. |

I disagree my friend, I think it will boost Montreal's scene big time and i think its SICK that the word is spreading.

the only thing that boosts montreal's scene is whats happenign HERE not there
say they open a disneyland in montreal... will you need to go to the one in the states anymore ? |

geez take it easy.
its a sign of flattery and success to have new york (from all places) wanting to imitate something we have here.
be proud and stfu :p |

I'm an mtl n00b, and I agree and disagree-
Objectively it helps and hurts-
However if you look at the case with somewhere like Pacha, there quite a few pacha's but people still make the trip to Ibiza SPECIFICALLY to hit up that one.
I think people will recognize mtl's stereo as the original, and this in many ways does help build its legacy (as long as the new one isnt )...
And also Mitsu, the NYC club scene is faaaaarily fast paced and intense. MANY clubs don't make it- denouncing his opinion like that is just immature. |

At least 50% of the people that go there will want to check out the original which is only a 100$ bus ticket away for them ;) + local Montreal talents will get to spin in NY and i dont think i need to explain why that is good for the scene here...

Fair enough, Im a NY noob so perhaps you're right. But i didnt denounce it, i just said that coz im excited about it and all he posted was a pessimistic one-liner with no explanation which is no longer the case because of the wonder of [edit/delete] :p.

Ummm... lol...
It means STEREO now has more pull and thus bigger names will be booked in Montreal because they can book multiple dates w/ DJ's... |

It means there's a chance for Sven :)

Note: for those who take things literally, i dont think that a Stereo in NYC means bigger chances for Sven to come. |
