no! everyone in the world should get ONE primary credit card the second they turn 18 and charge every living expense they have to it. this is the best way to build your credit. i've been doing so for 6 years and my credit rating is superb. i can get approved for some seriously ridiculous loans if i wanted to. i have friends 24+ years old who on the other hand don't have or never use a credit card and they can't get approved for any kind of loan without a cosignee or fishy paperwork. when it comes time to buy a house, this can be a deal breaker. |

Exactly. This is how I was able to buy my house at 19. Credit cards are good. |

1 or 2 credit cards is good. having many credit cards will hurt your credit. they are seen as liabilities by credit agencies. wow, a house in the bay area at 19 huh? damn.... |

| yea, i hear the more cards you have the worst it looks for you. the apr is 19.2% |

| if you have too many cards it hurts you because they see you have too much credit available to you. |

| Keeping some main credit cards are key to great credit. What I also noticed is department stores credit cards give you too much credit. You can always ask them to lower the limit so it doesn't look like you have so much credit open. |
