Depends on what area you're talking about. I'm not all for the Dems on a lot of topics, either, but lately, they've been getting it less wrong than the Republicans.

the administration blows, yes, but i believe the republican party to be the better party. What have democrats done the entire time Bush was in office? They've been hell-bent on taking him down.
What could they do when they're completely left out of the decision-making process. What they have done is attempt to create debate regarding issues, which is pretty much all they are capable of with both houses and the executive stacked against them. Any time there is an attempt to further explore controversial issues, they've had their access to classified info blocked.

Personally speaking, Bush is probably a moral, good-intentioned person.
I don't agree, but who cares? I want leaders who don't lie to me and everyone else to advance their agenda. I want them to consult their entire cabinet, rather than isolate those who disagree with some policies. Bush wants "yes men" who support his every aim.

There isn't anything he can be impeached for.
Actually, there are a lot of legal scholars who would disagree with this statement.

Democrats, face it, your the minority. If you want the majority, stop crying about it, and do something for us americans, so we'll vote for you.
it will be a cold day in hell for us repubs, if the democrats got the majority again!!
I think you're going to be surprised this fall. The GOP has basically given up on the House and is now putting all their men and money behind keeping the Senate because it's looking close.

Ive been hearing a lot about the potential downfall of the USA, because of ultra-tolerance, and the immigration situation.
And I've been hearing a lot about the potential downfall of the US because the people are having checks and balances and civil liberties removed on a daily basis over this war, leading to the possibility of a government with no accountability to the people and with the power (and intelligence through spying) to deal with anyone that they deem to be a threat.

Agree to disagree:)
Suppose we have another 9/11 type event? The Patriot Act may look like child-plays if and when that happens.

If that's the attitude you have, the terrorists have won. I thought they hated us for our freedom, so why is our government taking it away all the time? Isn't that what the terrorists want?

The beginnings of a police state IMO if the US is not careful. The only reason they are allowed to excersise what they are doing is because we are at a "state of war," but are we really? Or are they hiding behind the term for their own advantage? I think the latter is reality. I mean, is their an end to this War on terror, and if not, does this give them the right to excersise the powers given to them in a state of war for as long as they see a threat (which might be a very long time)?

Honestly, the terrorists don't give a SCHEISSE how free we are. They aren't fighting us because we are free. They just want us dead.
I wasn't stating my attitude though. If you think long and hard, this democracy as we know it will cease to exist if we have another 9/11. People will demand security, and that will mean the end to open-ended freedom. Will we become an authoritarian state, maybe so. I'm not saying we'll become totalitarian as a result, but we definately won't be so free.

According to Cheney, it's a 100 year "war" not likely to end in our lifetime. So if things continue to go the way they are rightnow, yeah, we'll have a police state in every sense of the term.
