What's wrong with gambling on the Internet? It's normal and common all over the industrialized world. Why is the US so uptight about this happening within its borders? |

| Not sure, but I love playing party poker--with play money of course. |

Haha, now this is getting interesting. Dude, are you telling me what kind of lifestyle I can or cannot pursue? Suppose I ing love poker and so do other consenting adults who wish to play with me for money.
I'm not asking the question "why we SHOULD gamble on the internet", I'm asking you and people like you to move the f*ck away so that others can do it. Their reasons might not be comprehensible to you, but your morals are not everybody's morals. |

| The everyday person doesnt care about gambling on the net. Its the casions in Vegas that are trying to wipe out some competition. |

I just wanted your opinion on it. Maybe you had an interesting point and you opened my eyes, thats all. Also, your not asking the question, but when you make a thread like this you will have those kind of questions. Dude, dont act like you are free to do whatever you like in this country, you cant do many things that you may consider a lifestyle.
If you can give me some good arguments that why we should gamble online, maybe Ill change my mind, since you seem very interested in these kind of social things ;). |

bush is too stupid to figure out how to play so instead of looking like an idiot and loosing millions of tax dollars trying to learn a game far too complicated for his juvenile mind to figure out, he did what any politician does when they dont understand things..... ban it
in tonights news, americans will no longer be allowed to wipe their asses, as bush can figure that out either...... instead they will be advised to do the underwear shuffle and double wash the undies to get rid of the hershy highway |

Free to use your money as you please?
I think the main problem with online gambling is that there are no controls, as in you can go online max a credit card while drunk wake up the next day and you are in serious debit!
That said casinos will pump you full of free booze to get you playing so maybe having to pay for your own is an advantage? |

You can do e-trade, right? What's the difference? |

| Dervish is probably closer to the point. There was an article recently talking about who has whose money in all of this and it concluded that your money was pretty much the House's money and there was a lack of regulation/structure, etc. Also, if your wonderful government has a hard time taxing your winnings, you can bet they'll have a problem with you making a profit doing anything. |

But you can do that in Vegas too. You can walk drunk in a casino, spend thousands and still be in debt. Why would they care if you are drunk or not, they are still getting money.
I dont believe in an easy way of getting rich so I dont believe in gambling in casinos. People are to lazy nowadays that they all want money fast so they go into all of this crap and lose whatever they had. |

I agree in theory, but the infrastructure and regulation on securities trading are far more advanced than that of the online gambling industry. Conceptually, however, I see no difference. |
