Dunno about that, but there certainly isn't a world without consequences, not for us, at least. Our world was created the way it was because it was indispensable, but if you're an atheist it's another story.
In short, I mean it's such a silly world that our destiny in it is beyond our conception - to summarize what Masonious wrote, if I remember.. |

well in that sense there would be no world in which to be alive
edit: consequences being too broad a term, i should have said repercussions. |

Vigilantism, inhibitions being non-existent, no moral boundaries, all that *gone*.
No law, no one stopping anyone from doing what they please. Don't think that would lead to our extinction? A world with no laws, no repercussions for absolutely anything you did? |

then it wouldnt be anything AWESOME to do, becuase everything is considered that way becuase is out of the moral/political/legal/vigilantism/etc boundaries.
besides, all those views are in the eye of the beholder, I can find an eminem song a incredible work of art but my mom can say is the most unmoral thing evar |

Probably something to that extent, but I think I would get bored very fast. It's like playing a video game with cheats on. There's no fun in it at all. |

suppose that right now, at once, the universe changed to one where action does not have any repercussions. unless some other changes occur, we will cease to exist from any practical perspective (the act of breathing no longer implies the air we get will be physically processed the way it should be - unless you actively and consciously control each and every one of your bodily functions, you will surely die within seconds.. and that's under the assumption that we still will have some way to actually think).
and this example's more of a shot in the dark than the other one for me: is motion even possible in a world without repercussions? how? i don't think two objects can occupy the same space at the same time, can they? |

lol. You're basically opining that bodily functions, emotions, temperament and volition all concurrently being suppressed, is tantamount to 'action', which will in turn lead to some repercussion or other. The thread starter is ostensibly wanting to know what you, as an individual in control of his volition and utterly apathetic (a stoic of sorts, if you will), would do in such an aberrant, mock world. Without the circumstances you mentioned, no doubt. Philosophizing is good fun, though. :) |

Well, I don't see why it's a problem. :) Besides, I'm hardly convinced you are, otherwise you wouldn't be around TA amusing yourself ,(et al) but rather attend to some duty or other that doesn't engage your pleasure or pain, mentally of course (you could be ascetic after all :p) |
