What, from a club? :haha:
Easiest way would be to directly plug the output into your laptop (if you have one), but I doubt they're gonna let you in with a ing laptop huh. |

ask the event manager to record your set, or just burn the prerecorded set cd you're using during your 'performance'.
really though.. how does sound happen? in some mixerss there is a recording out option, as with booth and your speaker plugs.. depends on the mixer and sound setup I suppose. if for some reason you only have one line out you can use a pair of piggies to splice the channel.
Depends on the equipment. |
i think he means he wants to record the dj without his permission, hence bootlegging. going up and plugging in to the mixer any type of recording device is going to obviously get him kicked out of the club.
if there is a separate soundboard from the dj booth (there almost certainly is in any club) just ask the soundguy to jack your mp3 recorder etc into it and slip him a $20
however i do not condone this behavior as i would hate to see you get your ass kicked by security. |

yeah im talking about being in the middle of the crowd and recording the set
im not going too full-on by slipping my own device into one of the outs from the mixer
i just want something to listen to again after I get back from the club
the question is, what's a good mic for recording even if you were next to the speaker.
I don't want to pay too much, but somewhere around the $25-$150 range
i don't want to use a minidisc (i heard that you need third party programs to grab your recordings from ur minidisc onto your computer).
any other devices? |

if you don't want to use minidiscs and your budget maxes out @ 150, you're not getting very far, perhaps a digital voice recorder whose subpar recordings you can tinker with using editing software.
to upload via minidisc all you need is a soundcard on your pc, although that will require real-time upload. digital uploads, via usb, can be done with no problem using sony's (much improved and no longer restrictive) 'sonic stage' software or something like 'hi-md renderer'.
currently, the best flash-based recorder under $500 is the edirol r-09, although @ 399 it's out of your price range.
getting good recordings in a club is an expensive habit homey. |
