| When I have recorded something, instead of having those little marks where you have rpessed a key in the seq, how do you get them to change colour with that oblong type bar round it? |

you mean those little boxes around events?
if I get that right what you want to do is groupping
just select a few of the notes and then right-click and "group"
or something like...can't remember...haven't used reason for ages! :-)
