I was in your shoes alittle while ago. Im assuming you were introduced to EDM through trance? Well now you got bored. Same here. I love groovin to house,tech-house,electro now. Dont let trance narrow down EDM. There are many other types that are just as entertaining. Just go find them.

i was like this in 2004 where i played funky house for a year. although after a few months mixing house i wasnt really enjoying it and it was showing in my sets.

in 2005 i went back to trance and i love it even more now than ever. sometimes looking at another genre will lead you back to trance. the grass isnt always greener but for some it is.

Stop listening to one bloody genre all the time. Even if you only listen to three genres of music, a bit of variation in your tastes will stop you getting bored and thus making bull "I managed to broaden all the way to prog!" posts.

I used to be a hardcore asot fan but something happened and nowadays it's house or psy for me. I can't really explain it but normal trance music feels so boring and flat.

don't be faithful to any style...be naturally promiscuous when it comes to music....afterall, when it's good it can be good no matter the style ;)

The fact that trance is a stagant music style which has known small to inexistent evolution in a time varying between artists (1 to 7 years) might be an explanation for your sudden lack of interest in it.

I suggest you broaden your horizons and try other styles.

I am an all-around guy when it comes to music, eclectism is the answer.

as a trance producer i can say that somedays i get tired of producing trance and try to venture to other genres its happend many times to other producers and listieners as well so i wouldnt say your losing intrest in trance (unless you truly are) its rather a matter of your ears wanting diffrent taste for a while

so dont even trip its all good

some melodic trance sets are indeed boring.. its nice to listen to them while doing something else but I dont feel like they give enough energy. dont take it wrongly, I do love trance but not all of it is as energetic as it's supposed to be. There's really good trance out there just some dj's that grown popular lately dont play the good stuff. Recommend u have a listen to some John O Callaghan & Sean Tyas and you'll see how energetic and danceable things become..
