I have 2 Numark TT-1520's and a Gemini BPM-150 mixer.
I DJ at home, in the basement, only learning so far.
Slowly getting better. (I'm 21.)
Tell me , Nate, how does it feel like to DJ live, in front of a big crowd?
Is it scary? What do you do if you make a mistake?
Is it hard to beatmatch with all the noise? |

just go to a local night club near your area. Make friends with the manager, give him your mixed cd, tell him you would like a job , and hopefully it will take off. Good Luck and never say that life sux it can only get better. |

How'd you get into DJing?
I'd really like to try it, but it seems time-consuming, expensive, and a little confusion. I wish I had a friend who was a DJ so I could get mentored. |

Djing at a club wasnt my first time infront of a live crowd. I have been djing since i was 14. I djed all of my friends house parties for free lots of times and you get used to the crowd, and their reactions. If you make a mistake you CANT get nervous. Just act quit and make it sound good. Practice makes perfect. |

Dont give him hardcore deep trance, give him nice melodic uplifting trance that will get the crowd going, and has a unique sound that no one else has. |

you CAN'T make any big mistakes. When the beat isn't matched just a little push will help. But if the mix gets out of control just spin the record and cut it. And make it sound as good as you can. |

well i was very good friends with the manager and i just poped the queshtin to him one night and he agreed. I guess i was lucky. I get played VERY VERY little for each night, that why they buy me the records. Im not doing it for the money so it really dosent matter for me. I make my money back by giving out my card to the crowd and getting piad well for doing private parties. |
