DeepDish Feat : Sharam
Deep Dish goes on to further bridge the gap between past and present
It's been 14 years since the duo first met in DC, and it's been seven years since they released their critically acclaimed debut artist album Junk Science. During the time between Junk Science and George Is On, Deep Dish's Dubfire and Sharam have been extremely prolific. They've released a number of genre-defining mixed CDs including Yoshiesque (1999), Renaissance Ibiza (2000), Yoshiesque Two (2001), Deep Dish "Global Underground: Moscow (2001) and Global Underground: Toronto (2003). In addition, they have become two of the most in demand remixers in the business, and their credits include Madonna, Beth Orton, Depeche Mode, Dido, Janet Jackson, The Rolling Stones, 'N Sync, Justin Timberlake, Brother Brown, Morel, and Danny Teneglia. Their remixing prowess earned them a Grammy nomination in 2001 in the "Remixer Of The Year" category and in 2002 they were nominated and won a Grammy in the "Best Remixed Recording" category for their mix of Dido's hit single "Thank You." The group later went on to collaborate with P.Diddy on the track "Let?s Get Ill."
On top of all this, these two talented and driven artists tour throughout the year with 100-plus DJ gigs worldwide, leading Rolling Stone to declare, "there may be no other live DJ act better than Deep Dish."

In the heavily male dominated DJ market, it is rare to find a female DJ who can create a huge impact on the scene in a short amount of time. Miss Nine has not only been able to outshine and make her presence known in such a world, but she has done so all within three years of picking up a record. With her eclectic taste in music, ranging from energetic grooves with plenty of vocals to a deeper, progressive sound, Miss Nine is sure to turn heads and move feet any where she performs.
Kristin Schrot began her career, not as a deejay, but as a model. At 16, she made it to the finals of one of the largest modeling pageants in Germany, and soon after secured a worldwide contract with Elite Model Management. Longing for more, her passion for music led Kristin to move to Amsterdam where she dubbed herself Miss Nine and began pursuing a career in the electronic industry.

Which explains the success in 3 years. Being a female and having talent will get one a hell of alot faster than being a male with talent.

Sharam wasn't bad in San Francisco last weekend. He actually played a good bit of stuff that wasn't trance, thank god (although the cheesy vocal tracks were definitely there). Overall an enjoyable show, with a few really incredible moments.
and, Female without talent > Male with talent, in the entertainment industry. Sad, but true. I have no idea if Miss Nine is good, just throwing it out there as a general comment. |
