i originally heard brian eni - an ending (ascent) in the horror movie 28 days later.
it wasnt until i listened to the soundtrack that i was able to identify the track and the fact that i liked it.
finally, i heard the leamma & moor remix on the introduction to above & beyond's essential mix live set.
i have the exact file name with date of the mix at home.
its the intro mix and during it, jonathan grant, paavo siljamaki, and tony mcguinness are answering pre-asked questions about life and people in general.
the dialogue in no way hinders the tunes perfection.
it actually makes a better effect somehow.
i put this track on a waterproof mp3 player that i use when im out on my jet ski.

flying on the water at 50+ mph passing huge ocean liners at port with air rushing past you, with this track blarring in your ears, is ing great.
this tune is, by far, in my top 10 favorite tracks ever.

everyone always talks about how cool brian eno is...but i wonder how many people would really like his music if they heard anything other than An Ending (Ascent)...

i mean i like that song too, but a lot of his other stuff doesn't really appeal to me because a lot of it isn't ambient...

Yea, I have that set too. It's Above & Beyond - Clubbing (01-01-05). The discussion gives the track a nice touch......."Religion, you also need it, but at the same time, when you grow up, you got to get rid of it. lol" :eyes:

This was an Above & Beyond Essential Mix, I guess they could have rehashed the vocal bits into another set...

Exactly. A while back I bought Brian Eno's "Desert Island Selection" just because it was Eno. I listened once and thought this is totally unadulterated garbage. I should listen again and see if I still dislike it. But yes, I've enjoyed a lot of his ambient works.
