In HS on Staten Island, one of my teachers said to us...

Get off of this Island and go see what else is out there. People who grow up here never leave and never realize what the world is like outside of this island. There is something about being surrounded by water that keeps them here.

So maybe its not an exact quote but it stuck with me. And its true. Meet someone who grew up there and is still there in their late 20s, early 30s and you can just tell they never left.

HS on SI
St. Johns SI for college
Marry a girl/guy from the Island and spend your life on an express bus heading downtown...

I Pissed myself watching this, it was the funniest thing I have ever seen, a bunch of retarded, walking carrots (orange from tanning salons), talking about how life is rough in a ridiculous accent. I am from Staten Island this is every girl on that Island!!!

You can make that argument for just about anywhere really. Like me, Ive always lived in queens, went to school in queens, prob live in queens my whole life. I guess its the fact that these ppl never left and are also situated on an Island that makes it sound SHOCKING. Like something out of Castaway or Gilligans Island. LOL.

LOL, I'll be a smart ass: bronx is the only part of NY that isn't an Island.:toothless

i think the whole NYC is an island ; bronx is connected to manhattan & queens is connected to long island.

How bout that tard that was working as a waitress in the Manhattan saying she was worried about being accepted by the people there because she is from SI, hahahahaha, as if she is from Mongolia or something. Or the struggling actress who pulled up for her audition in the Lexus SUV?

a bunch of beauty school rejects... hahahaha

I thought SI people, just like SI itself, were just a big myth that didn't exist anyway :p
