FL Style 'Cut Itself' in CubaseSX?

I switched from using FL Studio to Cubase a little over a month ago, and I'm pretty happy with it.
However, I am wondering if there is anything similar to setting a MIDI track to cut itself off like the 'cut itself' feature in FL, or even something like setting the max poly to 1 on a track, or something.
Is this something that would soley be an option of the VSTi itself and not done with Cubase, or is there something similar? |

| I am asking this, because for instance if I do a kick drum rush, snare rush, etc, or just do a stuttering synth line, I would like the sounds to cut each other off rather than go over top of each other. |

| Yeah, that's up to the sampler, which isn't included in Cubase, you need a separate plugin. They all have ADSR envelopes, and the "cut itself" is equivalent to A = 0, D = 0, S = 1, R = 0 (sometimes R > 0 depending on the effect you want). |

Ok, well I see that for drums at least, this can be accomplished when using Battery 2 by assigning drum samples into voice groups and then limiting max voices to 1.
A number of other synth vsti have a max polyphony type setting so I will use that in that case.
Thanks you guys. |

| Yes, that's one way to do it in Battery, although it doesn't work so well if you actually use the voice groups for other purposes. A better way is just to edit the ADSR like I mentioned earlier. |
