thats why you do a oem retro!!! if you go oem dont go over 5000k for the bulbs. im getting retros doen right now, rx330 afs with 300zx clear lense combo. it will have a nice thick colorband and a nice cutoff. will post pics once its done. if you do a retro proper you will be able to aim them. |
Damn... that is a good set up. What did it run you? I thought it easier to find a totalled R32 and pull the assembly right off of it. |

hid plug and play kit = TRASH AND JUNK
OEM hid Retro = the best, can't even compare the two. check here for more info.

i like 5000k cause they are super white with no blue tinge. and the "kits" i agree are normally . the only "plug and play" part for me would be the balast on the stock non hid connector. the mcculluh and the phillips ones are fine. |

Go down to Pull-A-Part in Anaheim, it's off of the 91 right across from Camelot Amusement park, find a totalled STI in the lot and grab what you want off the STI. You have to bring your own tools and do the work your self.
5000k is good. I prefer 6000k run through a projector. You can get away with 3000k as your fog lights but not as your standard beam. |

3000k is barely bright enough for fogs. a lot of people use 4200k for fogs. |

hahahaha most def.
but 3000k for fogs are the best imo, they light up everything so crisp and it looks a lot better than 4300k.
as for my retro, i got hooked up on the rx330 headlight assembly. it was the entire headlight with the afs projectors, denso ballasts, and 5000k bulbs. then i paid another 100 for the 300zx lens, and paying 175 for labor. so all in all not including shipping its going to cost me roughly 600 plus shipping. |
