Oh yes, I've wrecked my dad's car once. Rammed it into a bus while taking a turn.
It was midnight and I didn't see the bus coming. The bastard had turned off the headlights for some reason. :whip:
My parents and my sister were also in the car at that time. Luckily no one was injured although the car took a big hit.
I was shaking like a leaf :nervous: So scared. We were left stranded in a deserted location that cold winter night. Had to call someone to pick us up.
As a consequence, mainly due to intense pressure from my mom, my dad banned me from driving for some time :o |

Even though you weren't wearing a seatbelt? I understand it is pretty normal for posties not to wear selt belts when popping between houses but it sounds like you were on a much busier road... |
not required by law at the time, and yes it was a busier road. however it became abit of a habit after not wearing one in work for almost 4 years. |

I've been in 2 bad wrecks......the first I fell asleep behind the wheel and totaled my car. When I woke up, I was in shock....didn’t know where I was for about 2 minutes and what had happened. I had no initial pain....but 2 days later, I couldn’t sleep well for about 2 months......I had the worst chest pains...and I toss and turn a lot at night......so that would wake me up, and I would have to slowly move to the comfortable position.
The second was just in Feb 2006. It was raining and I just hoped onto the freeway....I was coming towards a little dip which had obviously turned into a puddle of water......drove over it....and my car lost control....I was going about 45mph. My car spun in all sorts of directions until I was rear-ended. My car was supposed to be totaled....but the stupid ass insurance adjuster didn’t know what the she was doing and didn’t give it the "totaled" title. Now I’m stuck with this piece of that hasn’t been fixed properly until my lease is up in Nov 2007. |

during my senior year of high school i was pulling out of the parking lot and another student was passing a school bus over the double yellow line. the school bus blocked both our views so we didn't even know we were going to crash until it happened.
i was going maybe 10mph, she was going 40mph. she wasn't wearing her seatbelt and she bruised her knee really badly but didn't break anything. i was ok since i had my seatbelt on, just really shaken up. my passenger - a guy i had just met since i was at a new school and this was like the 2nd week of school - hit the windshield and got a concussion.. that freaked me out more than the accident itself, because he bit his lip open when he hit the windshield then fell over and passed out in my lap and was bleeding on me.
we all got ambulance rides to the hospital, even though i was ok but i was basically forced to go since we were on school property. the chick who hit me lied to the insurance companies, saying that i ran the stop sign and hit her... but it was a majorly ing stupid move since there was even an article in the paper about it that said "Passing School Bus Leads To Crash"... lol. so she got 100% fault for the accident and i got 0%.
i got $4,000 for a car i paid $1,500 for...
and for the rest of the school year, the girl who hit me was nicknamed "crash test dummy" :stongue: |

The only accidents I've ever been in have involved me being rear-ended.
The first was on prom night. It was rainy as hell, and we were in really crappy traffic coming over a bridge into Seattle. It was stop-and-go, and I was making sure to leave plenty of space in between myself and the car in front of me. All of a sudden, *bam.* I was expecting the back of the car to be incredibly ed-up, but it was just a little dent. The grill on the guy's car from the eighties was busted-up all over the freeway. Apparently a spider was crawling over him and he was trying to knock it off of him and didn't see that we had stopped. It was fun, though; got to stand in the middle of an awesome bridge in pouring rain in my tux. :whip:
The second time was on my way to school. I was driving fairly fast, and this girl in a truck who wanted to drive fast as well, took notice of how I was getting ahead of everybody and decided to follow me. We hit a stoplight, and it's one of those where the right turn lane is a yield lane. So I start slowing down, because there's an old lady stopped and she looks like she's starting up again. She has plenty of space, so she starts up and then suddenly slams on her brakes for no random reason. I hit my brakes and barely miss her, but the truck behind me doesn't get so lucky and slams into me. No damage was done (I was in a different car than prom, and it's a ing tank), but I do regret not getting her phone number. She was incredibly cute. :(
I almost got rear-ended driving out to Nou's cabin once. His cabin is in the middle of bum nowhere, and there was a Renaissance Faire nearby which was causing a lot of backed-up traffic. I was coming up over a hill and right as I hit the top I had to slam on my brakes because there was a line of stopped cars and you couldn't see it until it was too late. I had my CDJS and Xone in the back, and they all flew forward and hit my seats. :( I turn around to see if anything's broken, and this truck comes barelling at me from behind, so I start steering out of the way and he barely misses me. |

Was heading to uni for my afternoon class and the bus I was in crashed into this black motor (dunno the make) Got quite a shock, if it any harder, even a tad, I would've broke my chin and neck. The other 4 passengers were alright.
Any of you guys been in car accidents, or anything similar? If so did you brush off lightly or go to hospital for anything? |
Yep, my ex totalled his car on the M4 at 80mph we me in the passenger seat.
Thankfully the car swang round before it smacked into the tree otherwise it would've been goodnight from me.
The tree fell down too! |

I never had a car accident or something similar, but i am studying Traffic Science at the moment, which is a lot about traffic safety and traffic management :).
Traffic Science just started 2 years ago here in Belgium, at the University of Hasselt, it's a 5-year program (3yrs bachelor, 2yrs master)
They should REALLY have something like this in the US, it's horrible how they can live with so many people killed in traffic.
Keep in mind: Every month more people die in traffic in the US, than the almost 3000 people that died on 9/11. EVERY month. |
