Everyone knows about Dragonfly now. Good marketing I say.

Yeah I know about Dragonfly but I'm not driving to the Falls to see M&S or MO (not a reflection of what I think of them as DJs).

the thing about dragonfly is....they have a house night...they are not a house club.

the fact that they bring in international dj's should be considered a privelage and a bonus and not be expected on a weekly basis.

the club makes 10 fold what they do functioning as a top 40 on a friday night with a mediocre dj than what they do on wednesday nights.

from a business perspective wednesday nights are not a great idea and i assume that they may even lose money on them some nights...we should be thankful that they have a manager who is passionate about house music and will keep it going no matter what the financial reprecutions just to keep the scene going down here.

Good point.

On a side note, lets bring MC Mario and DJ Skribble!

very good point. they obviously could easily scrap the night with no harm to the financial aspect of the club. I really like the club, so i'm happy they can keep the night going.

i havne't been since summer, are the 'resident' wednesdays holding up at all?

Dragonfly will be a summer club....that is when you will see the big name DJs come. There just isn't enough EDM Fans flose enough to Niagara Falls to make it viable to have big international DJs there when people are in school.

i couldnt have said it better myself.

also, someone mentioned that all the international headliners are playing at This Is London now. the reaso is simple. electronic dance music is more profitable in toronto than it is in niagara.

Very often the locals outshine or do just as well as the guests anyways. If you look beyond the hype and just at the substance of music, locals should be playing ANY venue at least 3 out of 4 times every month. The problem is that the hype machine outshines the music.

kind of on a side note, but with all the big names that came to dragonfly this summer, has any DJ publically stated that they enjoyed either the club itself or spinning in the club? (like in an interview or on their website)
