What they don't tell you is that Marquee is located right in the chelsea area close to Crobar NYC, Spirit (Formerly Twilo back in the late 90s to 01), Quo, B.E.D and various other hot spots who turn out an equally nice crowd. Lately though, the area has came under pressure by the NYPD because of all the misfortune underaged kids been having. 1 girl turned up in the news because she was murdered when she left the area and her car was towed...
essentially has became the cesspool for 18+ er's trying to finagle their way through the doors of these nightlife "lime lights"
Any true socialite in new york knows to steer clear of that area due to the over-populated out of manhattan attendees it attracts. Sorry to say that section of manhattan on a friday-saturday night is simply weak. |

Quo's closed...and yeah, that area lately. Some girl got raped coming out of Crobar on Sunday morning, btw. Apparently it's a serial rapist who kidnaps the women at knifepoint, takes them to abandoned buildings in Jersey, and leaves them there when he's done. The girl from this weekend pretended to pass out and ran to a house to call the police when he left. Not good at all. You'd think that the ridiculous police presence there would deter him or that he'd get caught, but they're too busy catching the drunks and drug users rather than the people preying on them. |
