Creating a spesific atmosphere
View this Thread in Original format
The Drow
I have a problem creating a good 'floating & dreamy' atmosphere.
Yes, I wanna try to make some prog/uplifting tune because it's something I've done only once.
Any good suggestions on sound programming and chord progressions?

Cheers,
Omer.

Open the preference section in cubase. Check the box with floating & dreamy. There you go.

LOL! Some of you senior members are so jaded and cynical. If you think the question is stupid, why do you even take the time and effort to post a smart aleck reply?

Try using soft airy pads and textury arps. What i would do is use a couple of vanguards and layer them along with atmosphere to achieve a desired effect.

Well I wasn't asking a stupid question so I don't expect a stupid answer.

My best advice Omer is to experience the world around you, During the experience when you feel the floating and dreamy atmospheric sound you have hit the sweet spot. . . For me I really dig Waves, Wind, Water, Birds, Crickets, Cars driving by, To add in the dreamy part you'd need to work with chord progression. . . So after you have the atmospheric sense of reality mix that with what you think would be the same in electronic form and your set :)

Thanks for the advice. What kind of chord progressions should I use?
