Abuses of power and self entitlement

This is a thread dedicated to the stories that all of us have about abuses of power by those in authority and feelings of self entitlement that are supposed to serve as role models.
I'll start with a current one.
| quote: | OTTAWA -- A top diplomat visiting Canada to preside over a global summit of francophone nations was left "hurt and shaken" by shabby treatment and a perceived snub by Prime Minister Stephen Harper, according to internal government documents.
E-mails, ministerial briefing notes and incident reports from Foreign Affairs Canada, obtained through access to information, reveal a flurry of finger-pointing and butt-covering this spring.
Records show the Conservative government lurched into damage control after Abdou Diouf, the former president of Senegal who is now secretary general of la Francophonie, was searched upon arrival at Toronto's Pearson airport in May.
'MISUNDERSTANDING'
"The search request and especially the behaviour of certain officials at the airport seemed to have left Sec. Gen. Diouf deeply shaken," reads one internal incident report.
Cabinet ministers downplayed the ordeal as a "misunderstanding," but behind the scenes government officials were scrambling to quell what they called a "crisis."
Documents show a deeply offended Diouf skipped a trip to Ottawa and instead took a later flight directly to Winnipeg.
He was pleased with a call expressing regret from Foreign Affairs Minister Peter MacKay but felt "hurt" by the lack of a meeting with the PM, one report reads. Government officials later noted that Diouf appreciated a phone call that eventually came from Harper. |
Sorry but if the security and customs people doing their jobs had a reason to search this guy, then they should have. Last i checked he didnt have diplomatic immunity and even if he did, dont even get me started on the largesse that that is! |

| Sorry Jay, but Canadian immigration has some serious PSYCHOS w/God complexes working for them. Its as if mental instability is a requirement for the job. Having been pulled aside one time too many for my liking, the things I have seen and the way I've seen people treated is appalling. |

DAMN RIGHT.
You're drunk - YOUR at fault. Its not everyone else's job in life to look after you to make sure you dont do something bad.
We need to be responsible for ourselves and take that blame when we up |
