My latest effort, and first venture into vocal trance-influenced stuff. I prefer female vox but one makes do. All lyrics/etc done by me.

Lyrics:
everything's breaking to pieces in front of my eyes
watching mighty ambitions fall before little white lies
the man at the corner says "it's all gonna end" anyway
can't put off 'til tomorrow the things I've been meaning to say
do you know the sky is falling
do you know the curtain's torn in two
can you hear the sirens calling
I know I'm still here but I'd give it all to wake up next to you
slashing the wall says another day went up in smoke
been too many years since I had any feeling of hope
the man at the corner says "give it all up for the cause"
well, I'd try it but there's nothing left 'cept memories and flaws
do you know the sky is falling
do you know the curtain's torn in two
can you hear the sirens calling
somehow I'm still here and there's nothing left to hold onto
I'm falling
everything's so calm here
I'm falling
somehow I know I belong here
at the bottom of the universe
[Now you know why "alterna"trance ;-)] |

A lot of the vocals don't match with the beat.
It sounds like a trance pop song. |

I have to agree with Beatflux, it is too mutch lyrics, make it sounding popish. But I like the melody a lot! Think the mixing is good. Maybe just try to say the same with less words. Keep it up! :)
Takere!

Akia: Thanks for the comments and the listen. I agree that this song went far more pop than I intended to, hence the half-joking "alternatrance" genre label. It sorta ended up as a fusion between alternative rock style vocals/lyrics and trance instrumentation and that's what it is. Guess it just took on a life of its own! I'll try more minimalist lyrics/vocals in the future (and hopefully get a reliable female vocalist - I have one half-lined up).
Still, glad that - for what it was - it wasn't hate-worthy! Thanks again:-) |
