what if the bad luck had nothing to do with your actions? It just happened to you.

Nothing "just happens".

I walked into an ambush of ninjas. Had to fight for my life.

ok, they were'nt ninjas persay but it was a job interview and they sat me down for an hour long exam on financial investing and taxation math problems.... I haven't done any math related work in about 6.5 years so this kind of felt like an ambush since they never gave me the heads up. (this kind of math was not required for the job) I ended up getting 92% right which I was pretty impressed with, but they weren't. Aparently that other 8% would have cost a client something like 83 million dollars in investments....

besides that I have to be Los Angeles the nights PVD is playing here @the roseland ballroom and then I miss Deep Dish and Astrix (been waiting to see Astrix for years!) I rarely go out here but I was fully planning on hitting up all three of these.

Otherwise life is pretty good. Lots of bodily injuries but hey, I do MMA so it's more or less part of what I signed up for. That and pain killers are getting to be better and better.

Right, but some of the things that happen are out of your control or are not directly related to your actions. I am a supporter of the old adage, " happens".

Give me an example (of something that happened that is totally out of one's control) so I can see where you're coming from.

Freak accidents, plane crashes (if you're the passenger), and spontaneous human combustion (;)).

OMG, this thread was the first one I noticed. I seem to run into bad luck ALL the time. I will try and think of some the most recent things that have happened to me, and I'll post them (after I have my shower...if I don't slip and die in there).

Maybe you should eat more of these:

i was speeding, i passed a cop and exited off the highway, he thought i was trying to lose him. Since the roads were slippery that day he "thought" that i could have killed someone if my car went out of control..the only problem it was 4am on a sunday and no one on the road and i was by myself

5000$... for lawyers....

Here's what to do next time. You find yourself a mechanic and get yourslef a false bill stating that you replaced you speedometer. If you can't get a fake bill.. change the speedometer, it costs less than 5000.

Afterwards, you go to court and say that you didn't know the speedometer was broken and you thought you where driving under 110. Also mention that changing the speedometer (with the fake/real bill in hand) right after the ticket shows your good faith and that you have solved the problem. You didn't stop on the highway because tehre was fog/rain/slippery conditions and you have done the safest possible action given the unordinary circumstances. Because of these reasons, he should annull the ticket among all the other legal actions.

Tada! Problem solved.

I'm telling you kids these days... no imagination at all.
