Xone 92 vs. Ecler Nuo 5

I was just wondering if anybody had a chance to play with Ecler Nuo 5. According to many sources this mixer is very solid in terms of sound quality. Plus, it's manufactured in Europe. Is it really comparable to Xone 92 and Djm-800?

I have the same mixer, the sound is awsome but the mixer seems to be very mid heavy.. holds most of the sound in the mids, do you notice this too? |

| I have a NUO 4 and it's truly an amazing mixer. I'd highly recommend anything from ecler. |

With the edilab software you can preset your own range for the eq... |

With the software, could I combine this mixer with Ableton without having to use an external soundcard?
I mean, use all the mixer's functions in ableton, instead of having to plug it into an external soundcard?
I know the Nuo4 has midi control functions, but im talking about using the mixer to its full potential but purely with Live. |

hmm.. didn't know that. I also have a nuo4. I too felt that the mixer was very mid heavy. Anyways, other then the eq knobs being so huge, it's a great mixer. :happy2: |

| How are the knobs on the Ecler? are they really as big as they look? I am thinking about getting on next year, a Nuo 4 probably, but don't want anything with overly large EQ knobs. |

no..the edi:lab is only to edit the EFFECTS in the NUO5.
Also, only the NUO4 has MIDI to use with Ableton etc...
And the knobs are about twice the size of normal knobs. Look at the silver GAIN knobs on the NUO5...those are about the size of "normal" knobs on other mixers....to give you an idea |

I'd take a picture with a scale for comparison, but my camera isn't working.
I rather like the large EQ knobs, but that's just personal preference. |
