but honestly, there isn't a director like him out there (although new generation is looking good with PT Anderson, Darren Arronfosky...) with such a brilliant consistancy: every single movie he made was GOLD

Just wait till you see Aronofsky's "The Fountain." It's gonna have you thinking about it for days. It's like a cross between 2001 and Mayan mythology.
2001 was good. Clockwork was incredible. Cinematic poetry.
