for those of us out of highschool
where did you stand?
which group did you chill with, did you try hard in school?
did you leave highschool thinking
"that was an awsome 4 years"
or
"im glad im out of that place"

do you think it prepared you for university/college/life?

my own input:

i was always at every party, known by everyone, i was more on the jock side and i find it no surprise now when i look back that im one of the few people i kno that goes 2 huge EDM events since me and my buddies were party animals back then
i liked highschool alotl but i definatly like the way the real world works more

Back in the days when I was young -
I'm not a kid anymore.
There's some days I sit and wish I was a kid again.

high school was a joke. it was just a popularity contest and revolved around drama

I graduated this year, hell I miss it like . I took it for granted in a way but I suppose thats how everyone does when theyre in school, miss friends and all those folks you probably wont ever see again. Im gonna go cut myself. :wtf: No but seriously, I miss it like hell. Everyone for some odd reason knew my name, my friends knew i produced music and was a DJ so I got some fly bitches in my day. I was the P Diddy of my highschool:wtf:

Everyone knew me but I knew know one :stongue: :stongue:

So often I'd have these people randomly talking to me saying hi and my reaction was who the frack are you?

I always hated little cliques and crap but I used to hang out with the punk/skaters type of crowd and smart ones/computer geeks too ( top of the class type ).

Popularity as it is done in the US ( and perhaps Canada too ) are not at all the same in Europe( for one most teens don't drive cars to school in Europe )....

As I went to 2 High Schools, I had 2 different experiences. Basically in my first school, I made loads of friends but the system was corrupt so nobody really cared about learning anything so I moved.

In my second school, I did better in my studies but I didn't really bond with as many because I didn't like as many people there and I missed my old friends.

I was neither really popular nor invisible, I liked being neutral. I wasn't a geek either, I like to have a balance of work and play, so overall, it was OK. :)

I guess I was like the Fonz. I knew everybody, everybody knew me, and the teachers couldn't figure out why I was still in school 2 years past the time I was supposed to have graduated.

In high school I was known for two things. First, for attending only about 2 days a week and yet "somehow" getting a perfect or near-perfect score on every test. And second, for an elaborate and audacious conspiracy I devised which ultimately "persuaded" our principal to abruptly resign.

The latter certainly gained me a certain degree of measured popularity, but I wouldn't say that I had a very close group of friends at school. This is largely because most of my friends prior to high school went to a different high school, and despite this I chose to close friends with them in lieu of making new friends at my high school.

I was definitely more of the "im glad im out of that place" persuasion (hell, that's why I stayed out of there 60% of the time anyway.) It was just... rather boring. I could think of many more productive uses of my time, to say nothing of the more fun uses.

I don't feel it really prepared me for anything. Not that I felt unprepared later on... but I feel that good parenting and a decent head on my shoulders were the reason I was prepared for college and life after college. High school's contribution was negligible.

hmm highschool.
throughout highschool ive always looked like the nerdy kid in class. in junior high i pretty much hung out with the bmx-ers and rocker kids, however i didnt have much of a life then due to being on the swim team. i still did manage to get into trouble all the time though.

i moved to a new school for my senior years. hung out mostly with the aggressive inliners and triad members. actually my best mate used to be one of the more senior triad members in the school. senior high was fun. so much fun i managed to get myself kicked out halfway thru my final year.

to keep a long story short, i returned a wallet i found that had been reported stolen the day before and the disciplinary board decided i should take the fall for that and a couple of other matters. i wasn't guilty of any of those cases but a really bad record + getting arrested a month before didn't help my situation one bit. nevertheless i was allowed to return to sit for my finals and i managed to graduate
