Again, theres a difference between being obsessive compulsive and just taking a lot of pride in the things youre working on.
The way you can tell the difference is that you can force yourself to not fold something properly. If you said, "Okay Im going to prove that Im not controlled by this piece of paper, so Im going to fold it/staple it a little crooked," you probably could. People who are obsessive compulsive are just that - compulsive. They cant control what they do, even if they try. |
i could do it, but it would bother me for a while. i would probably have to fix it.
if i'm folding up a paper to put in an envelope and i mess up the crease and it's not even, i refold it. even down to when i put the tape over it to seal it (i hate licking envelopes), i have to make the tape go over the edge perfectly down the middle. it's hard to explain, but i start over every time i mess it up. |

i'm a perfectionist when it comes to certain things like that too.
RJT makes fun of me for some of the quirky i do... like rearranging my cheeseburgers or sandwiches so that all the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the sandwich. i always rip my strips of bacon in half so that i can line them up perfectly on top of the burger. |

haha
i dont take apart my food and arrange it, but if i'm making the sandwich, i'm the same about making sure each side of the sandwich has the same amount of ingredients. |

Bahahahahaha! Yeah for real though, I'm pretty anal about a lot of stuff too. My strive for perfectionism was a lot worse when I was a kid though.
For example, we did a project in grade 7...where we chose a poem or nursery rhyme and had to illustrate a picture to go along with it. I made a whole book of poems, all drawn and colored in fine detail. I put a lot of work into it. Well I made a spelling error on one of the pages, and I had already colored the whole thing in with marker...so instead of just whiting out the ONE TINY mistake, I crumpled up the WHOLE finished page and started over. My teacher actually scolded me for doing this. |

I definetely have some OCD traits, but it mostly has to do with worthwhile things, like making sure my debit card is in my wallet, making sure the garage door is closed, making sure the door is locked, etc.
ill check to make sure my debit card is still there literally 5 times or more. why cant i just get the message across to myself the first time? cause im an ocd son of a bitch. |

| Depends what it is. My home studio gets pretty messy at some times and it kinds of accumulates clothes, papers, cds, but once every 6 months I clean it up if it gets too bad. |

Most of my personal is strewn about all over the place, organized chaos I guess. But when I do at work or write stuff out it has to be perfectly alligned. |
Ditto.
I wouldn't call it OCD, but anything that I do or listen to musically has to be as perfect as possible. Anything in any genre that is even slightly off-beat (even if it's intentional) or that is out of tune really, really, really bugs me. Even if a transition is perfectly beatmatched but mis-phrased by one beat, I'll have to skip through the set because it freaks me out so much. Unfortunately, this doesn't help when I go out to clubs often.
I do have a couple of other OCD-ish traits, and I used to have more as a child but I've forced myself out of them.

| I have some symptoms of it but I don't know if i have it or not. I can't get in bed without the same routine, my pillows have to be the exact same way each time, my quilt has to be facing the right way round. When I wash I always do things the exact same way. teeth, wash face & neck, shampoo hair, get in shower, rinse hair, wash everywhere else. Even drying I do the same way, i have to, I dunno why. I won't go anywhere unless i have a bottle of water with me & some mints incase i have an anxiety attack. I do so many things one way because I get wound up if i try anything else, and usually make a mess of it. |
