how to make acid lines?

hey all,

just wondering whats the best ways to make acid lines. i guess one example in a track i'm thinking of is sean tyas - lift. he's got the thin acid kinda running in the background almost like a secondary bassline.

what i've been trying to do is get kinda a sawish buzzy type sound and throw an arp on it... but i don't seem to be getting very good sounding results. any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

1 polyphony ,no attack,or sustain and play around with the decay, release and portamento

maybe layer 2 saws and detune them by 3. and add some decay. reverb

i just listened through that song and never heard an acid.

well not an acid in the sense of psytrance acid lines, but i guess it almost sounds like a filtered running bassline. definitely is sorta acid sounding tho. not sure what to call it

Go back in time and get yourself a Roland TR-303.
